There are stories that he and the club had a falling out, over his RMA Academy set up, which might be considered to be stepping on a few Albion (in the Community) toes.
Yep that rings a bell.

Watched some of the recent Ipswich v Southampton game on Easter Monday. Russell Martin's conduct on the sidelines was nothing short of embarrassing.

Would be a great manager to replace the current incumbent, if he departs, but I think Mikey Harris will stay on personally.

Does Russell Martin go to the same ’hair stylist’ as Thomas Frank?

As you are so elegant I bet you use ‘Just For Men’?

The bench sitter’s drink of choice is Frosty Jack’s - so refined in its 2 litre plastic bottle. Why - you don’t even need a corkscrew.
Well, if they have a salt and pepper option it would be a possibility but....no, certainly not.

(One of my pals will be a long in a minute to question me about the pepper and ask why it is the same colour as the salt. The bastards ???).

If it includes buying his academy/foundation then it might be a decent move.

Suspect we can and will do a lot better.
I’d certainly like to think so.
If we are starting to do some due diligence on potential candidates, to create our contingency plan if Roberto goes, then I’m sure we would have a few names on the list.
Russell Martin may well be one due to his possession based philosophy. He’s also a local and those points would be his positives.
However, his lack of achievement at the highest level would be the obvious and important negative.
When Potter was taken on he had gained three promotions in Sweden and got his team into Europe. Martin is in the play off places with a team who were Premier League regulars before their relegation. Hardly inspiring.
Kieran McKenna on the other hand!

Russell Martin's name has been cropping up more and more as a potential replacement for De Zerbi. Someone sent me this report in the local Southampton paper too.
Far be it for a local paper to indulge in a bit of click bait nonsense - heaven forbid - but how would you feel about this Brighton born, former youth academy player being our next manager?

(Soz if this has been much discussed in another thread - I've only been able to dip in and out recently).
No to Martin, no to anybody other than the club considering a replacement until De Zerbi leaves, no to pointless speculation - we would have no idea.

I think - without meaning to sound too entitled about it - that we would be looking for some European experience as a minimum requirement. Not because we're guaranteed to be there, but because that's very much the ambition so it would make sense. If it's a familiar name (not guaranteed) someone like Julen Lopetegui maybe? Not necessarily him - but someone who's been there, done it, can appreciate the value of stability and is therefore less likely to jump ship at the first mention of a 'big' club.

I often have a roll neck on…black, blue or a lovely white submariner one. I’ve never bought myself flowers…
I personally find roll neck jumpers a tad claustrophobic to wear. Also when putting them on or removing them they induce a slight panic attack as I'm momentarily deprived of oxygen as the roll neck smothers my airwaves while I pull it over my head.

Roll neck jumpers are probably the most trauma inducing items of leisure wear.
