Well, no. For some reason the powers that be (PGMOL, the PL, UEFA or IFAB - I don't know which) laid down a list of things for which VAR could or could not intervene. Presumably diving was not included - all totally ridiculous; if they just told VAR to intervene if:
1). It appears the referee has made a complete ricket, or
2). If the VAR sees something amiss that the ref has missed -
....but no, they had to hamstring it by limiting what it could do - so it can do the stuff which annoys us, but not the stuff we might quite like it to do. I expect they had a well paid committee spending days working it all out............................

Looks like a certain yellow card offence to me.
Such a shame - he seemed such a nice young lad with a lovely smile when he was ripping up the lower leagues and the Championship on loan, and even when he was playing for us that one season.
