RDZ hasn’t even managed to win the Championship or an Italian non league trophy though :lolol:

I am starting to sound like a non fan, nothing could be further from the truth!

I want him to stay and recover his enthusiasm for the Albion

I simply don't think the measure you cited is justification for greatness.

That's exactly what he has said, dozens and dozens of times but not in his native language.

And he is showing emotional intelligence in front of months of the same questions asked over and over again to drive headlines.

Lastly you say he has to be honest but his honesty is going too far. Ok...is that porridge too hot and that porridge too cold?

Can’t be bothered to read through all the drama. RDZ is going to get linked with bigger clubs - he’s exceptional. We can’t compete financially and never will be able to with the clubs that command 60,000+ home fans. They have too many advantages. What’s not said enough is that beyond those, we’ve got to be one of the best clubs anywhere for any manager. Stable, sensible expectations (including from 95% of fans) and many of the world’s best youngsters.

100% this.

TB has a plan and appoints great people to help bring it to life. He’ll decide if RDZ is still right, but I believe that RDZ, PBOBE and TB will all be having open and frank conversations about how to bring success. I don’t think there has been any kind of breakdown in relationships.

But, RDZ still has a lot to learn and I’m sure he would admit it. Great to see that he’s set us up to play a little differently against Liverpool. I feel we are playing against them the way that lots of teams play against us.

I reckon we will look back and realise how amazing and exciting the performances he helped us produce were.
He's not negative, he's a very frustrated positive person who loves the club and its players.

I agree with your whole post except for this one word, only a fool would need to realise in hindsight how good we are. RDZ has been hampered with injuries all season and yet has managed to keep us in the top half of the league with two decent runs in the FA Cup and Europa. Watching this morning's game against Liverpool, two thoughts kept popping up, if only we had Mitoma and Solly fit and if only we could have kept hold of Ali Mac.

He’s a perfectionist and will never be completely happy, but strives for it.

Everyone kicking off at his interview and getting their knickers in a twist, did you actually listen to the whole thing - especially the last few mins?

Try to listen objectively, vs with the emotional attachment we all have to our club. It's really not a bad interview and isn't really saying what everyone is making out.

Press will always take bits out of context, which with non native speaker always sound worse. If you listen to his pre match press conference, sure the first half sounds quite punchy towards Tony etc. (and riled me a little) but in the last few mins he clarifies himself and says specifically he's not looking at any other clubs or jobs and is only focused on Brighton.

Not sure what everyone wants from him, but he's saying he's focused on the club and wants to chat with Tony about ambition and targets for himself and the clubs future. That's exactly what I want from my manager personally - someone driving us forwards and is honest / transparent about things with us, instead of pointless guff most managers spout at press events.

Reality is we need a bigger squad if we want to continue to compete in Europe. He wants that, we need that. He's making sure he's not hamstrung by a squad decimated by injuries again next season as we are playing so many games.

He'll also want more people to analyse matches of other teams as the people that did a good job last season now have half the time to prepare for games. Imagine if you had to do your job in half the time overnight - not possible and quality will slip. Needs both adjustment to new way of working but also more personnel across the whole of the club.

This is exactly why saying whatever pops into his head in response to a question isn't a good idea, even if some people want to view it as "refreshing" or "honest".

There are good reasons why I don't lead with "I don't give two shits about your f***ing cable troughs" every time I have to go on a project progress call, however much that might be what I'm actually thinking.

Hahaha! Although I bet you'd love to! :ROFLMAO:

But anyway, that's a fairly extreme analogy. It would be more akin for you to go on project and admit "things are behind schedule and here's how we get things on track" , instead of smoke mirrors, saying it's all on track but I'll speak to management, and ending up like an HS2 situation where huge bills and nothing delivered and being scrapped.

Saying his truth is part of the De Zerbi package and I for one don't want to change it. Greater honesty and transparency is a good thing in my view, as long as he's not being disrespectful, which he's not. As long as we can all be rational and not too sensitive about things (which is hard when it comes to a club we love).
