I genuinely believe everything I post..... I really can't understand why anyone would be so offended by someone with a different opinion. I'm hardly pushing Nazism or criminality I'm just dissing a football manager FFS.

Absolutely not true. He was asked a question and he replied with complete honesty, leaving no one in any doubt about his desires. YOu might call this undermining I rather see it as refreshing to know exactly where we stand nd how to go forward.

TB wasn’t in the press room having a conservation with RDZ about the future of the Club - any conversation they have will be behind closed doors.
RDZ simply said the discussion needs to take place. Nothing wrong with that at all. He’s not going to lie to the press if asked a direct question nor should anyone with a grown up head on their shoulders expect him to.
No point in all this endless and morose speculating either - RDZ was very clear where he stands and has been every time he has been asked - he wants his ambition as a manager to align with the ambition of the owners and staff of any club he joins as any sensible manager would otherwise its not a good fit. When he joined us 18 months ago, the ambition was to qualify for Europe - we achieved that - now both the Club and RDZ have to decide together what is realistic going forward for everyone and what the next stage of our development will be. RDZ is an exceptional talent that has been frustrated by a season of losing key players to injuries - not withstanding last summer’s window, I believe we would be still in Europe if it were not for that and maybe a position or two higher up the table. RDZ is clearly disappointed, especially not being able to finish the season with Mitoma and March, then getting the news re. Gilmour but he is clearly ambitious - it is a question of how much more investment the Club is willing to make - listening to PBOBE in recent months, I suspect it will be business as usual with the Club continuing to sell high and buy cheap which will not likely satisfy RDZ but maybe its the only way we stay a top 10 club without an enormous injection of capital. Nothing is going to be announced before the end of the season - and until then, I believe RDZ when he says he is committed to see it through and will be behind him in whatever decision he makes about his future.

f***ing hell, that was a depressing watch.
I just can't imagine he'll still be our manager next season. In fact, things could get pretty messy!

I tend to think the stated ambition of the club is top 10 and I think we are on course for that, probably finishing just outside Euro qualification. RDZ I reckon wants top 5/6, an important difference that I don’t know can be resolved any time soon. With RDZ a wearing heart on sleeve type, it’s also a difference hard to hide, I’ve no idea how it will be resolved or if it necessarily means a parting of the ways, and I imagine few do know at this early stage

I would be surprised if the very long term goal isn’t to be a top 5/6 club. But the near future goal is to be an established top 10 club which we cannot say we are yet.
Very easy for RDZ to say he wants signings but it’s not his club, his money, his investment. If we fail FFP, he can leave and TBOBE is left picking up the pieces.
Personally, I think it will come down to how much TBOBE wants to keep RDZ and what his demands are. If it is beyond what TBOBE deems realistic he will move on and the next manager will come in.
IMO, if RDZ wants more money for transfers, he needs to prove his worth. 5th is unrealistic I suspect but 6th, mathematically, is achievable. If he can produce this then TBOBE may well put his hand in his pocket. If not, I doubt he will (to a large degree).

The crux for me is RDZ agreeing a new plan with TB will not stop him going to a Liverpool etc. He’s too ambitious for us. It’s not that long ago that TB felt Chris Hughton didn’t meet his ambition. This is all ok. Just the push and pull of employment relations. This season though has been seriously tainted by injuries, a real underlying frustration of what might have been.

This is simply the default condition of a middling PL side. You either hire a dull manager off the radar of big clubs, or you hire a manager that is going places and will be on their radar. There isn’t much middle ground.
Who are the longest serving managers of the mid table, Marco Silva, Moyes, Howe? It’s not long is it. You’re either like Moyes and not in the radar, like Silva and Howe rebuilding their reputations, or like RDZ fresh on the scene with instant success and on the radars.
If people are going to get this angst ridden, maybe we need to scrap the plan and go dull football again with a safe pair of hands who feels Brighton is their pinnacle?
