[Albion] Have we ever had a truly crushing last gasp defeat?

Spurs was only a few weeks ago.

And the penalty shoot out v Man Utd is not even a year ago.
Yeah but they were only standard, albeit disappointing, defeats. We've lost loads of games to a last minute goal. I was thinking more along the lines of a massive match where defeat has been snatched from the jaws of victory and was season defining. So in the Watford v Leicester game for example if Knockaert scores the penalty Leicester are through (I think) but within 60 seconds not only has he missed but Watford have scored the winner. Absolutely soul destroying for Leicester. Same for Bayern when they had just about won the Champions League and into injury time and within a couple of minutes not only have they conceeded an equaliser but have also lost. Truly crushing - a moment that the winner will never ever forget but the loser can't forget either

The closest moment like that is Stevens red card v Boro in 2016 / Watford/leicester is an incredible moment. Aguero another and Michael Thomas but there aren’t many of em. Certainly not for Albion in last minute anyway.

Not sure if it was last minute, but remember a crushing defeat away at Chesterfield around 2000/01 season when we were both going for the title. Oatway had been sent off sometime in the match and we deserved a point and a late goal did for us.
Yeah, that's the one I immediately remember. It put us some way behind Chesterfield and it was a game that we shouldn't have lost. It was a miserable train journey home. I also split up with my girlfriend the next day, just to round off the weekend.

Not a defeat, but it felt like it to me.

I had a bet on Bruno 1-0, all good until the 96th minute!
