Only problem with the USG link is the ban on transfers is in place till September 2024 meaning no business can be done this summer between the two clubs.

So if we do sign him he’s with us until January or would have to go elsewhere on loan for the first half of the season.

Maybe he'll be signed by USG and sold to us if/when he makes the grade.

A possibility but the Premier League are looking to bring in legislation that prevents transfers between two clubs with any shared ownership. The plan was to have a temporary ban in the January window while a permanent agreement was reached, but it didn't get the required majority (Brighton voted for the ban). We'd run the risk that this new legislation could still be implemented while this player is getting up to speed in Belgium.

I know it affects us, but I'm all for a ban on collusion. The longer we hold off mega club conglomerates the better.

The club voted in favour of the ban, although it could effect us on missing out from signing a USG player in the future the impact overall would be minimal. Such is our reputation now clubs are queuing up to loan our young players, and the recent change in the work permit rules means we won't need to be reliant on sticking a player at USG for a season to get the required points.

According to reports in the Romanian media, CFR Cluj owner Ioan Varga has revealed that he has been contacted by Brighton & Hove regarding the transfer of Nigerian forward Philip Otele.

Varga claimed to have demanded £6m, almost €7m (approximately N9.3 billion in Nigerian currency), plus 20% of the sell-on fee if Otele departs the Seagulls before the expiration of his contract.

Probably end up getting made a mod round here if thats the case!
Left winger? Sounds perfect. Taken off on 85 minutes after running out of gas, gives him five minutes to call out all the train drivers on strike and can then sit back in the changing room and deal with the mega binfest erupting over people who can't get home.

Couldn't we buy him from some Nigerian prince? They seem to have lots of other bargain deals on offer.
I always think;

Imagine if you actually WERE a Nigerian Prince, who desperately needed to get some business transacted online before 12pm on the 1st April? It would be an absolute nightmare getting anyone to believe you.
