I can't help thinking Wales' fans would have brought more to the tournament than some of the more notorious element amongst the Polish contingent.

Plus Poland are always a waste of a tournament space. Qualify, occasionally get labelled as dark horses by a few "experts": never do anything whatsoever.
Poland went further than Wales in the most recent major tournament.

Good to see Lewandowski get one more chance at a European Championship. Especially in Germany, where he's had the majority of his career highlights.

To be fair Wales have been woeful at the last 2 tournaments.

I will forever have the memories of beating them and being in the stadiums in 2016 & 2022 though.
Yeah, but it's good to see different teams qualifying rather than the same old faces. Pleased to see that Georgia have knocked Greece out tonight.

In recent times, yes. Although they made the Euro QF in 2016. But there was a time when they were a very strong team, although it was back in 70s.

That’s a pity, I’d have had another team to follow in the Euros, don’t really care about Poland.

Quiz question. Just checked it.

Name all 13 nations who have contested a Euros final (nations with previous names count as one)

I was thinking maybe Yugoslavia, so with my list (including Czechoslovakia, Netherlands) and yours, that leaves one more.

Sweden? Hungary?

Yep, just one more. Think England fans being tear gassed by Turin police.

Good to see that Wales' tactic of hoofing it upfield and getting Moore to fall over, after wrestling a centre back, failed o win the tie.
His remonstrations for a penalty after he was "pushed" over were pretty pathetic.

Genuinely, as soon as it went to pens, my lad asked 'who is going to miss then?' and I called it as Dan James. He just has a completely unconvincing ball-striking technique.

Exactly this, as I pointed out earlier in the thread. They are the ultimate tournament also-rans. A flair-free zone since the Boniek era of the early 80s, they do nothing except power-puff stroking the ball around in midfield and defence. The commentators talk about Lewandowski constantly of course, but he never does anything ever because he gets no service.

The only good thing about Poland at the Euros is that there is a chance some tiny plucky country might actually win a game.
