I worked with a person who was born a male, had full reconstructive surgery to become a female and then had a lesbian relationship with a woman.

BBC7 was an old digital radio station. They used to have a programme called the 7th dimension, which was on at 6.

I finally bothered to google Gareth Malone and can see he has a feminine face, short hair and thick rimmed glasses. Looks a lot like Sue Perkins. I can see where the OP has been confused, however I should point out that most lesbians do not fall in to this stereotype at all. I am a bit of an expert on this having watched many films on the internet featuring lesbians.
