It is a welcome alternative to the general caterwauling and whining on Radio 1 and other pop radio stations, and more listenable than the Mumsnet that is Radio 5 live (when it hadn't got football). The football coverage on Talksport is OK; boxing? - I've given up on that since it stopped being on mainstream free to air TV.
Adverts? - to long, but just ignored in the same way as I ignore them on TV or on line; time to go and make a cup of tea or have a slash. No problem.

Yes, there are some inane time-fillers, like guess the attendance - but so what? All radio stations have time-fillers of one sort or another. Who bothers? Who cares? Who pays any serious attention? Just switch off your ears to the crap, and listen to the bits that you want - it ain't difficult!

There’s always LBC and the James O’Brien show.

I'm afraid that I have never listened / tuned in to talksport after accidentally catching 15 minutes of it some years back. Please take that feedback into account when describing it as 'popular'.

Haven’t listened to it for years, I think the adverts for building supplies with some tit putting on a cockney accent singing a jingle got on my nerves.
Also didn’t like the argumentative presenter that was on in the late afternoon, think he supports Peterborough…..probably caused some road rage for some driving listeners. Don’t think I listened to more than 5 minutes each day before changing station.
Is Alan Brazil still banging on about drinking champagne at horse racing?

Good luck to the OP, I’m sure some of our fans enjoy it.

Christ, you must hear those bloody adverts and inane jingles in your sleep.

It’s partially background noise for me whilst I work, but yea the ads can be annoying and too frequent.

There’s been 2 repeat ads over the past year which I’ve had to immediately turn the radio off due to massive annoyance. Thank god I can’t remember what they were.

I bloody LOVE guess the attendance!

That game wiled away most of the A1 on the way up to Newcastle a couple of years back as we did our own one. Everyone bunged a fiver in for each round as someone took turns picking out fixtures from the classifieds the previous weekend. Nearest the pin over 5 fixtures won the £££. Marvellous entertainment, and you need to know your stuff.

Great game.

Interesting start to the Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein section this evening, following England's game against Brazil. Andy asked Bent where he thought England would finish if they were in the Premier League. Bent asked who would be the manager, Andy said Southgate, so Bent said 6th.
Andy then asked 'and if the manager was Pep?' and Bent said 1st.

Sums it up really.

Got to be the Scottish bloke 'Do you get given the gooood biscuits?" one and the Unibet bet builder: "I bet that's just what you did, Barry, isn't it?" (sounds a bit like a whiney David Mitchell)

:lolol: :facepalm: :lolol::mad:

I currently hate both of those, and I can hear both in my head whenever I choose - which isn’t ideal! The UniBet one is particularly annoying.

But no, there’s been a couple of far worse. One of them, if I remember correctly, had so many genuine complaints due to annoyance, that the company pulled the ad, and created a new one basically trolling the listeners for being so irritated. Which just pissed me off more. 😩😂

Used to have it on during the 45 min commute. As has been said background noise.

Goldstein and Bent good. Enjoy listening to Simon Jordan. Laura whatserface flirting with McCoist and when Ray Parlour is on usually forced a switch of channels to mumsnet 😂

The scratch card one around Christmas puts those two to shame. We all know if you win £2 on a scratch card you’ve had a result the biggest con out there.

The Just Eat ones with the robotic voice were so frequent and annoying I went from listening to TalkSport for about an hour a day while driving to now only listening to match commentary and occasionally Max Rushden. (I've also never used Just Eat.)

Listen to it maybe once a month but only if the story is connected to our club. Does seem like a good avenue to put the record straight with someone like Paul Barber OBE coming on.
Maybe listen to half hour a month. But not when Graham souness is on, he’s a dick.
