How was he defending items thrown at them? Has he got umbrella arms or was he deflecting and catching everything heading in their direction?
Can't we just say it as it is: A bunch of possibly coked up mates go to the game, get on the beer and try to look all hard in front of each other.

Aggressive behaviour based purely on the football team you support is dumb.
Such flimsy vindication behind idiots who are "ard" in their own minds and can't handle drink/drugs.
It's the same from both sets of supporters, they think we're all in admiration of them and much the same as high-speeding drivers/those who drive with fog lights on thinking they look good/those with terribly crap "personalised" number plates, we're just watching and laughing at them and their tiny genitals.

If something as trivial as a sports team from another town, wherever in the world, is enough to spark a wish to inflict abuse, harm, and injury on someone who supports them surely it isn't too big a stretch to suspect a certain proportion of these knuckle-draggers think the same of other races.
Inclusive? Possibly not.

Go and watch your team. Behave like a decent human then carry on watching.
Have the courage of your convictions, don't come out with some bullcrap excuse, it makes you look even worse.
Behave like a plum, get banned.

We’ve got multiple small groups (mostly 20-somethings but not exclusively) like this who are away game regulars. Will arrive in their seats (6-8 of them in 3-4 seats usually, starting arguments with those in their place), spend the entire game slagging off our players, goading the oppo fans or checking bets on their phones. The designated round-buyer will piss off on 40 mins to get the beer in, then they’ll come back again 5 mins into the second half, possibly having added another 2–3 to their number. Often no idea what’s going on on the pitch (won’t, for example, realise we’ve made a sub).
I don't really want to get involved in this arguing about our fanbase but I think you're being a bit unfair really. The things you've mentioned bar the seat politics are done by everyone. Old blokes seem to spend more time on their phones than anyone else. Some unassuming 60 something in front of me at Fulham was on his phone for probably the entire match (looking at escorts btw!). The beer thing you mentioned is a good solution no? I wish more people did that, it would help the queues. Complaining that these young fans slag off our players is so ironic. Have you seen this board after we lose. Do you think they're all on here or something?

I have to say one of these groups was next to me at Arsenal away and were the only ones in the area trying to get an atmosphere going. I'm more bothered by the people who stand for 90 minutes in silence with their arms crossed and tut at people for singing too loud.

No but he was defending fans in that bottom section that were having anything and everything that wasn't tied down thrown at them.

Man should be given the freedom of the Amex not a ban.
Looked like attention seeking nonsense to me knowing that the netting would protect him from serious harm. The netting downstairs and plexiglass upstairs meant that we were in no real peril. I just stood there and watched the clown show unfold before me with bemusement, until the teargas finally forced us to move.

Pathetic behaviour in my view.

Video from the same game, AEK fans trying to set light to my son’s flag and then steal it, he wasn’t at the front and luckily some decent Albion fans rescued the flag.
Stewards standing around doing f*** all in the AEK section

Maybe he was from Seaford? ???:lolol:

That guy with the sunglasses was my favourite, absolute head case who got very upset when they lost, spent most of his time crying and slapping the glass.

Silly old bat
Others will see it differently, but in my view just standing his ground whilst being goaded by Greeks and with missiles coming down on Brighton fans. Unless any Greeks were arrested/banned seems like the judiciary were not exactly even handed.
District judges at Brighton Magistrates court don't have any authority in Athens.
Maybe email AEK to ask how many attended court in Greece?

My opinion of Al Murray has significantly changed.
Same. Who knew of his medical skills?

That's grossly unfair. Were you there? If so, did you somehow miss the stadium tannoy appeal for a pub landlord to assist in a medical emergency in the opposition fans area? Well? ???

The best (worst) bit about that article is that he's a) a Dad to a 14 year old, & b) a youth footie coach. Brilliant.

I can imagine they are a delight to play against. I can hear him screaming at the ref from here.

"“I tried to assist someone in trouble and that person was an Athens supporter."

He ran into the Athen area to help a woman having a heart attack.....apparently. Did he also try the 'he headbutted my fist' line?
