I was speaking to my Dad and my Uncle who are in their 70s now and watched Lawro throughout his career. Independently, they both put Mac Allister ahead of him in terms of first name on the team sheet for an all-time Albion XI. Can't say I disagree really. I doubt we'll have another player who will essentially run a World Cup final, outshining probably the greatest player to ever play the game.
To call John Templeman’s part in that fabulous goal, a great assist, is a bit of an understatement I reckon.

What a player.
I was a huge fan back in the day, I used to play for The Ham pub in Worthing, and Lawro was our Honorary President,( I know, it’s what pub teams did then).
He used to turn up for training on a Thursday night, and play, but you weren’t allowed to tackle him. Not that anyone could, anyway.
The end of training was a ‘Next goal wins’ scenario. If on Lawros side, you just used to give him the ball, and go and get changed.
He did really like the ladies at the time, and went through several relationships because of it, if I remember correctly.
