I used to have a flatmate who was so anxious about pooing they were completely unable to ever do it anywhere than the home bog. Couldn’t ever go at work, let alone anywhere else. Bunch of us went to Corfu for a week and she didn’t go once - had to wait until back at home. Bizarre.

Wouldn't have wanted to be following her in the bog after that!

Once, occasionally two, although I’m surprised I hadn’t drawn any interest from National Geographic after last weekend Madras

I had my colon removed 14 years ago due to Ulcerative Colitis. After a while living with a stoma I was "replumbed" but without a colon food passes through me v quickly, sometimes in a couple of hours. I'll have a bowel movement at least 6 times a day, on a bad day it can be double that. I'll take up to 6 loperamide a day to slow things down and also use a fibre supplement which has the same effect. It can be a pain, but if my colon had stayed I'd have been dead for the last 14 years so overall it's ok!

It's nice to have you with us. Did all this going on drive you forward or did you decide to take things easy to enjoy life more?

Thank you! I pressed on with my career until 6 years ago I took early retirement. I've since been diagnosed with two related conditions, PSC (as was Kieron Dyer) and Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. But I'm good, off to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos tomorrow so mustn't grumble.

Sorry to hear that, but that's great you are doing things you want to. Enjoy your trips.

West is BEST
Used to be all over the place. But got my diet under control. More fibre. Then some more fibre.
And I pretty much gave up drinking. And barely any bread, maybe once a month.

Guts much healthier.

Once a day. 09:00hrs pretty much on the dot.

True story, I used to work in a furniture factory years ago. One of the directors was off for a while having an operation.
When he got back, we had a meeting with the 2 directors, dept heads etc, to get him back up to speed.
It was then he said that he had part of his colon removed, my instant reaction was to say, ' you've only a semi colon then ".
He was the only one not to giggle, grim or smile.
I kept out if his way for a while.

Brighton factually.....
Lactose intolerance added with a poor diet (still ate cheese)and alcohol, I was 4-6 a day.
ever since I started the diet seven months ago and now cut back alcohol and dairy (matchbox size if I do)
i range from 2-4 times a day, but sometimes once, doctor says that’s fine and even was at 4-6.

Usually once but occasionally a couple and occasionally skip a day. Usually balances out though.
That’s me too more or less - lucky enough never to have had any particular problem in that respect.

Years ago, my (now) wife and I got pulled by customs at Gatwick coming back from a weekend in Amsterdam. I had a copy of the Bristol stool chart in my hand luggage (a mate had posted it to me to settle an argument), and had a difficult time justifying it. I was spluttering 'its real research you, you know'. I almost did a number 7.
My daughter, who is a doctor, gave me a t-shirt with the Bristol stool chart on it once As a birthday present.
i never wore it much.:poop::poop:
