The previous one was in Coventry. They seem determined to stage this event in the UK's most dismal towns. Where next - Middlesbrough?

The previous one was in Dundee, according to the article posted.

Said no one, until now it seems...

Wrong,

I've had a big weekend in Luton. 1997 Tribal Gathering festival at Luton Hoo to be precise. Still the best dance music line up ever curated IMO which featured, in no particular order, and only from what I can remember:

Kraftwerk
Eddie Izzard (pre Suzy) telling jokes
John Peel playing Status Quo in the middle of a DJ Set
Chemical Brothers
Daft Punk
Faithless
Carl Cox
Jeff Mills
Orbital
Pete Tong
Deep Dish

and loads of others.

I know Chase and Status are mocked by many but I stumbled across them at Glastonbury once upon a time, in that Spider thing, and they certainly got the party going….especially when Skrillex joined them.

Strictly speaking that's not Luton - Luton Hoo is a country estate several miles south of the town and about as far removed from it as you can get. I went to a corporate event there once. They had clay pigeon shooting. In Luton proper they don't bother with the clay - or the pigeons.
