Anyone know when this will be confirmed? My understanding is that the TV companies need to give 5 weeks' notice (which basically means the deadline is tomorrow). Or have I missed the TV picks for that weekend?

I asked similar recently when the last lot of TV was announced. I was told it's FA cup semi final weekend, so if they get through, it would be postponed.

Ah yes of course - many thanks. Had forgotten about the FA Cup!
Looks likely Chelsea will get through, unfortunately, so presumably rearranged for a midweek in May 😕

At least Chelsea can't get drawn at home in the SF, they have been drawn at home in every round of both domestics cups this season. Unbelievable amounts of luck. The extra home revenue has filled some of the financial gap of no Europe.

FA Cup gate receipts are shared between the home and away sides equally

The FA Cup has alreday seen us lose Man City as a home weekend fixture. Would be really good not to lose Chelsea as well.

Come on Leicester!

FA Cup aside this fixture is 2 midtable teams going nowhere.

The International Bald Men Fighting Over A Comb Championships have more chance in being moved for TV.

Chelsea got the QFs of last years Champions League, netting them about £41m in prize money alone (they'd have goteven more when their share of TV rights is added as well). Any gate receipts they've earned this season from their cup run isn't making a even a slight dent in the money they've missed out on by not being in Europe..

London
  • Aston Villa AFC Bournemouth
  • Brighton & Hove Albion Chelsea
  • Crystal Palace West Ham United
  • Everton Nottingham Forest
  • Fulham Liverpool
  • Luton Town Brentford
  • Manchester United Newcastle United
  • Sheffield United Burnley
  • Tottenham Hotspur Manchester City
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers Arsenal

We COULD be live as it's turned into a bit of a rivalry now.
Nailed on tv games will be the title race so Spurs/City; Wolves/Arse & Fulham/ Liverpool.
Then probably Man Utd/Newcastle?

Most of the games you have suggested WON'T actually take place on that weekend though - if for each game, either of the teams involved, reach the FAC Semi finals.

City v Spurs won't take place, if City beat Newcastle tomorrow (and if they lose, then United v Newcastle won't take place!)
Wolves v Arsenal won't take place, if Wolves see off Coventry tomorrow.
Fulham v Liverpool won't take place, if Liverpool beat United on Sunday (and again, if they don't, that scuppers United v Newcastle...)

So much like our City game, the TV companies get to bank an extra midweek fixture even closer to the pointy end of the season.

TV Fixtures
As expected, the PL have delayed the announcement of fixture rounds 34 (20th April) and 35 (27th April) until next week. This is due to the FA Cup Semi-Final taking place on the weekend of the 20th, so announcing now would mean asterisks being placed against all fixtures. By announcing next week, they should be set in stone.

Well worth joining the FSA - if you're not already on board (and its free)

I know this won’t be a fashionable opinion but I do feel a bit for the PL with this one, you can understand them wanting the cup games to play out before nailing down the decisions, and I think fans deserve it as why book trains / hotels only for the game to be cancelled by Monday?

No excuse most of the year, but this weekend is fair enough IMHO.

Fair enough. I obviously wouldn't have posted that had I known about the FA Cup semis. Genuinely trying to be helpful and posted at a busy day at work and sometimes you don't have time to read the whole thread.

A bit off topic for the discussion but helpful for keeping track of where to access tv viewing - I have used this site for years for our own tv fixtures - it is updated as soon as fixtures are rescheduled for tv programming - obviously all the tv fixtures for teams in the EPL and League for cup matches and League matches are available on the site too.
