Moder did alright.

He’s got a problem, that I don’t think he’ll ever really score goals or get many assists, he’ll never make barnstorming runs or crunching tackles. He’ll never cross like Gross, nor show incredible touch like Lallana. He’ll never hit booming diagonals, he’ll never intimidate an opponent

His game his based around quick short passing. Around first time little pokes and prod to get him out a tight spot and get us up the pitch. He finds space between the lines impressively.

The question is. Is this enough?
Great summary.

This is partly why I think it’s worth pursuing with him as a defensive midfielder in a double pivot. He’s the most physically imposing midfielder we have, can cover lot of ground and looks like he’ll win the majority of his tackles/duels. With some work on his positional play and ability to read/intercept passes, he could be a great option there.

I’m out.

I like him and I believe he is an EPL top 10 player but I can’t understand where he fits into Brighton 24/25?
Strange timing after today?

Thought he did really well and one of the few performances to get the crowd going. And we have no idea how Brighton 24/25 will look or who will be in charge even.

I get that. But what position is he meant to be playing? I don’t think he is top level at the advanced midfielder playmaker or good enough for that deep lying role either. But he essentially got us the win today.

He did a lot right today but we only had 10 shots on goal. He didn’t play the sort of through balls we need in that position or get any good shots off. It’s not that he is not good enough, it’s that in an RDZ formation, I just can’t see where he’ll thrive?

He was a whisker away from scoring today?
I thought he was a real positive, covered lots of ground, very controlled and happy to mix it up physically.

Were Caicedo and Bissouma great in those facets?

Just confirmation bias - nothing more.

Nobody knows how Moder will pan out.
But the need to be first right and never wrong in front of a faceless internet community is strong.

“You know where we can afford to start binning off players from right now? Central midfield.”
