There will be a lot of pay offs to some of those players to leave, long term loans with Chelsea covering wages or absolute rock bottom fees to allow the buying club to give them a signing on bonus

I've read in a couple of places that their job isn't quite done.

What's the betting FSG and Levy are tapping up Neto just now? :lolol: :mad: Then of course the plastics polluter Ratcliffe will start muscling in on LFC and THFC deals, copy-catting clubs who know what they're doing.

Boehly will have to do a lot of that as with Kepa and Lukaku, to prevent huge player £ losses.

It’s not just Chelsea though. We were in for KDH from Leicester and they are also deep in the mire

I think this is the main reason why we held back a bit during the January window...there will be loads more opportunities come June.

Not just Chelsea though. Lots of clubs may need to sell, Leicester being one, Forest, Everton, Newcastle.

In the last premier league season, according to this https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-premier-league-wage-bill-30054153 Leicester's wagebill was double ours. I'm under the impression relegation clauses for wages are quite rare. So I wouldn't be surprised if he is on more than we like to offer (his last deal was signed in 2022).

But it's not just that, we're not the only team that will be trying to get deals. We won't compete with Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool for wages. There were rumours Arsenal made it clear they would be interested in signing him in the summer.

I've seen a bit about the new rules coming in/being voting on and Everton fans crying they are changing the rules now.

Isn't it a case of the rules becoming tougher and more inline with UEFA?

I am aware it's not as simple as players sold, but they have sold a lot of players

Barnes/Maddison 40 million
Fofana 80 million

Etc etc

Some payroll cost v income snippets based on last published accounts, years vary due to slower filing by some clubs.

Albion £115m / £167m
CPFC2010 £124m / £160m
Wolves £142m / £169m
Everton £159m / £181m
Leicester £182m / £215m
Villa £194m / £218m
Spuds £205m / £338m

Villa also spent £600m on player fees.

Villa spend on fees/wages like Tottenham, but have the income of Leicester. How’ve they managed this? The owners have financially doped the club with £672m of their money over 5.5 years, most likely far more than that when we see their 2023/24 accounts. Their current PL standing is no Cinderella story.

Though that's a precedent for a club that was considered to have cooperated with the investigation and that was agreed to have mitigating circumstances on appeal.
Could be looking at a "standard" point per £2m.
For an aggravated case maybe 70 points per £100m, enough to move from champions to relegation in any season.

Very interested to see how Villa plays out.

Also interesting that there's likely to be an unofficial transfer window at the end of June with several clubs having to sell by June 30th and a very limited pool of clubs able to buy unhindered by PSR.

I exclude us from this as I don't see us buying a first team player from Villa due to wages. Could see us looking at picking up a prospect though
