I must admit my first thought isn't " oh what an impressive atmosphere " it's more " how sad to have your whole life revolve around a football team. "
The banners are funny mind 🤣

I highly doubt their day to day lives differ that much from mine or yours. They'll still have a family, a job, go on holiday ect... They just have more passion for their club, which still takes up the same amount of time as supporting Brighton, just a bit more effort. I don't really think there's much to mock about it.

Tbh I can't see me ever jumping up and down all game waving a flag or standing in the middle of a road suffocating from a flare, maybe it is passion.

Yep heretical thought but maybe it’s not just the players who have to step it up a level when we face the top teams of Europe. We’ve come a long way as the Fatboy song goes, which you realise when you face the continental royalty

Their atmosphere was great at times, and we didn't do much to quieten them down.

Nowhere near Marseilles levels
I agree on terms of out and out noise but I much preferred the Roma atmosphere. Marseille was just noise all the time. I like to hear the ebb and flow of noise reacting to the game and reacting to the away fans which they definitely did. Much more enjoyable.

Not just young ones. One bloke with white hair made a beeline straight for them to wave his Lazio scarf in their faces.
Quite a few oldies and youngsters.. One even had a Nazi symbol on his phone showing to Roma fans.. :ffsparr:

(where's the thread about how many absolute dickhead/weapons were there last night, arguing with our own fans etc?)

Wait until we have a pre season friendly against RDZ former club Foggia. Nonno Ciccio the oldest Ultra in Italy.

The whole Lazio thing was utterly cringey, biggest scumbag club in world football, like the worst Chelsea boneheads times a thousand

Zero evidence Roma fans were involved in the robbery and its bollocks like that which will cause trouble next week. Insulting banners, oh my
So you’re disputing attack no.1 which was a bit more than just a robbery. Fellow fans got stabbed! Secondly, the vile banner about the Queen, you let that pass too (cause we always do those don’t we for opposing fans) and no.3 (missiles being thrown at Brighton fans) you handily don't answer. Ok then, right you are.

I just hope the hill you're dying on is lush green!

Everything I read beforehand (not just the club stuff) said avoid the bridge and area around it - I was going to walk to the stadium but decided not to when it was apparent after walking around down there earlier in the week that going around that side of the ground was the only logical way in (although I did see a very small number of people being allowed into the bus drop-off on foot as we queued to get in - they presumably didn't antagonise their taxi drivers into dropping them in the middle of the enemy :lolol: )
No antagonising of the 80 year old cabby!! But he was pissed off from the moment he picked us up as no cabs were going to the ground and he couldn't reject after accepting as it was Uber.

We were absolutely wasted and didn't really think about getting screwed over. I remember saying when we got out .... Are we going to die....and he just gave me a wry smile.

The only good bit about the episode was the adrenaline when we got to the Brighton end ..... We were absolutely buzzing. Could so easily have been stabbed there were no police on the bridge !!

Have put this elsewhere but taxi driver screwed me and my brother on the way there and dropped us off the wrong side of the stadium.

We had to walk all the way round which was ok at the beginning but by the time we hit the bridge .....f me..... No wonder they said avoid it. Absolute hell. Groups of thugs shouting in our faces , slit throat gestures . I'm shocked we didn't get physically attacked !!!

I just don't get it ? Is it just small penis syndrome. Why would you be so angry with a couple of blokes with their head down? Was a buzz to get past it I guess but I will be more careful in future.
If only someone had warned us about exactly that.

Could you hear on the TV? Thought we were good at times, but the atmosphere inevitably waned as the goals went in

Jesus Christ what is wrong with you? Paul Barber had to go on radio today to calm down this bullshit you are spreading about Roma fans being responsible for the attack. Pack it in before you become part of some incitement of revenge attacks on innocent fans next Thursday
