Absolutely. 25 years ago what we wanted was a future in which we could just behave and react like normal football fans. Part of that is to be angry about putting a display that was shockingly poor in planning and execution in one of the most high profile games in our history.

We know we can play better, but really should have only been a 2-1 defeat on the performance. I think we can put 4 or 5 past these at the Amex, trouble is, I can't see us keeping them at nil.

Are you genuinely saying football supporters can’t be irrational ? Jeez, after some Brighton games of old id have had them all lined up against a wall and shot. And that’s not even being irrational it would have been being responsible.

Ha ha. It is how I used to feel so many times after a disappointing game. I'm a lot older now, but I totally understand that posts made in the immediate aftermath of a poor performance should be taken with a pinch of salt. I personally, love to see that passion and sometimes irrational statements made. They are not only entertaining, but remind me I'm not alone by far in those times. It's a fleeting moment and nothing more than that.
I'm sorry if some wet-wipes get offended on behalf of others.

Exactly. We should be able to squabble amongst ourselves, say we’re the worst/best team in the world. Say the goalkeepers rubbish (even if he didn’t make a mistake). In 24 hours time we’ll wonder what all the fuss was about. Some posts are like being stuck behind a slow car, for that period of time you wish all manner of evils on them but once you’ve overtaken them normality prevails and you realise that person is probably alright in real life.

Wow, I was merely responding to the more extreme quotes people were making and it was as if they'd failed to acknowledge how far TB, PB & RdZ have brought us in the past few years and how far we've come over the past twenty five or so years. I accept that there's passion immediately following the game and we all react to that differently.
For the record I was a nause well before retirement, as well, maybe I've just got worse. Son doing well, thank you.

You can divide things up into 3 terms, so take your pick:
Long-term = Club now Prem Top 10, upward trajectory, best years ever.
Medium-term = 9th and out of Europe at last 16 stage, out of both cups probably where many people would have had us based on summer recruitment.
Short-term = Total disaster. A horror couple of weeks, best 2 players missing our key games, RDZ grumpy as f**k.
For me I look beyond the manager and look ahead to what sort of side we might be fielding next season: Verbruggen, Lamptey, Barco, Dunk, JPVH, Gilmour, Gross, Adingra, Buonanotte, Enciso, Joao Pedro / Mitoma (assuming just 1 of them leaves) with Ferguson, Moran, Baleba, Igor plus stalwarts like Veltman, Estupinan, Welbeck and March in the wings. That's a Top 10, competitive Prem squad.

I’m just glad my kids came along when the Albion have been decent. A generation ago it would have been a hard sell, the Premier League was in the rise and we were living hand to mouth

I can understand that, although we brought our kids up through the Gillingham and Withdean years and have some great memories of family support for the underdog. I have to admit that this season I am just becoming a bit tired of it. Still going to lots of away games and we travelled down to the Marseille home game but I’m not really feeling a part of it anymore. We go to football every week and I’m enjoying my non league footie much more than the Albion.
