Eye watering, spending their way to the top 4 it seems and getting away with it. They have rich owners to cover it, but sounds like they are on the edge of FFP etc:

Villa have been spending vast sums of money they haven’t got from true income, on fees and wages, for years. Without a CL penny. On a par with the Tottenham’s of this world. This season is not a Cinderalla story.

Wouldn't have taken a financial genius to work out that if you only make £400K profit despite selling a home-grown player fro £100m one season, that you're likely to make a big loss the next!
