We have been overplaying our younger players this season.
Hinchelwood & Buonanotte in particular have played more than would be ideal.

Agreed. It's certainly not the excess weight of his shin pads!
I think dear RDZ is more flexible in his tactics than some of us ( me included) give him credit for.

Stress fractures seem quite common among young fast bowlers in cricket so I assume it’s par for the course for younger stars and he’ll grow out of it, a real shame though as he’s been excellent IMHO

Oof. Surgery isn't normally the treatment for a stress fracture. Usually you just rest it until it heals. Must be a pretty bad one.
