Nobody had loyalty points if memory serves, you either had a voucher from I think the Stoke game earlier in the season, or you queued.

Yes, I had such a voucher from going to that Stoke game. They were just lying on the floor after the game, people tossing them away like litter. I suppose I wish I could go back to that Stoke game with a carrier bag and pick all the unwanted vouchers off the floor!

Yes, I threw mine in an old box under my bed,.... had a mad scramble to retrieve it once we all realised how important it was going to be..... my brother and several of our buddies had lost theirs.... all sorts of stress queueing with the masses at the Goldstone.... not me though....

If that involved standing on a yellow beer crate to be able to see over the wall at the front of the east terrace at the Goldstone, then maybe......
I broke my radio listening to Radio Brighton - Craig Johnston(e?) equalised, and I kicked it across the room. Followed by a desparate scramble to find another one in the house!
Not many actually went to the Stoke game did they? I couldn't, as I was working - but I bought a ticket for the voucher, and I don't think I was the only one.

I was going to pick Newcastle (A) 1979 as I've always been jealous of those who were there. But this would make more sense. As a little kid I got taken to a home game against Huddersfield in about 1968 and I hated it so got taken home early. I could stay till the end and see what I missed.

You must've missed Jimmy Case's goal then, as we went back in front almost immediately. Because of the poor reception (and the improbability of it) when Case's goal went in, I couldn't quite work out what was happening and actually thought it was Liverpool who had scored.
BBC Radio Brighton subsequently released an audio recording of the commentary on cassette tape. Does anyone have this?!
One annoying thing about the game is that I have a slightly smug friend, who used to follow us but is now a Fulham fan. For years, it remained the only game he'd ever attended - and he would perpetually remind me that I'd missed our greatest-ever victory!

The 1-0 against Palace in Oct 2005 at Selhurst. It wasn't a classic by any means, they should've still beaten us comfortably, but after the 5-0 tonking in 2002 it felt like something was left unsaid by the Albion. None of my mates could make it, but decided to go anyway and it was just an insane match. I think even a Palace fan wrote that he'd never seen such limbs and scenes in the away end before when we went 1-0 up, I think I ended 5 rows down from where I stood still hugging the stranger I'd never met before 
Then for them to have that last minute equaliser chalked off for offside and the Palace fans not realise for ages, made it all the more sweeter. Utter euphoria. Great days!

It certainly was a great away day, similar thing happened to the wife, we were stood near the isle and when we scored as you say it was bedlam, the wife ended up down near the front in a sea of euphoria. She came back up several minutes later declaring that was amazing, this does not happen at American football or ice hockey. I seem to recall a few Palace fans tried to break ranks and came on the pitch goading the Albion fans, and quickly retreated when a mass of Albion rushed down the front to greet them. On the way out they waited to wish us bon voyage behind police horses etc, the wife turned to me and said she had never been given the throat slit motion before by 10 year olds egged on by their parents, great night that lives in my memory, it is up there.The 1-0 against Palace in Oct 2005 at Selhurst. The only games I didn't see of all the key games since the mid 70s, was Hereford, I was in the town, but couldn't get a ticket.... and the first game at Withdean, I was playing a key rugby game here in the west country .
So maybe those two.
