He did a club interview recently saying he will decide at the end of the season.

I've noticed as well and think it'll be his last season. Can't see him dropping down the leagues with coaching ambitions he has.

If he's on the playing books one more year it'll be at greatly reduced terms and include a transition to coaching I would have thought.

Strangely I did notice this too in recent games. Not all the time, but there have been a few runs he clearly could have made either to get onto a loose ball or to get into an available position to receive the ball, and you can see him going at jogging pace. Obviously doesnt want to risk injury, which is fine, its better we have him doing what he can rather than on the physio table the rest of the season.

I mean, if we take this thinking a stage further, when RDZ introduces him as a sub, we are then effectively playing with just 10 players and on-filed coach who is directing acuity and is also allowed to touch the ball himself, and his interplay is often very intelligent and valuable. But physically, he has absolutely nothing left to offer. Has a great respected future as a coach, I’m certain, but will need to do some seasons plying his trade at a level below PL to prove his credentials.

He’s still got the best football brain and passing ability in the squad for me. But it’s time to hang up the boots in May and stay with us as a coach. I can see this being the case.

He was a great acquisition when we picked him up *checks notes* 4 seasons ago!!! But he was 31 then and managed 30 apps in his first season, but his appearances, fitness and mobility have declined since he joined and has become a passenger.

I think it's time for him to hang them up

I don't agree with the concensus he's past it. Muzza couldn't run either!

Lallanas brain and ability is that good, I think there's still another year and a role in first team squad if he wants it. And its not just what he gives on matchday, it's what he gives to the likes of Pedro or Hinshelwood every day in training.

That said, I'm not sure he will want it, or to keep putting his fragile body through the rigours of what is required to be match fit.

And if RDZ does do a bunk from the Albion in the summer, then 99% any thoughts Lallana may have of continuing would quickly extinguish.

This sums it up for me although I think he'll do a stint with us as an assistant coach to start for a couple of seasons until he gets an offer from a lower league, bit like Rosenior.

In one of the recent training videos he was standing on the outside of the group as they passed the ball about, wearing a jacket and holding a couple of balls where the players were in training kit

All writing him off, now watch him be in the starting eleven at Luton on Tuesday

He’s effectively an assistant coach now, hopefully formalised next season

This will sound like a dumb idea ... most likely because it is ... but, whilst he is still a player under contract, could we loan him out to a lower league club as a player-manager, so he comes back with first team management experience?

do the same with millie and pascal as they approach the end, and we have an assembly line, just like with our wonder kids at the moment!
