I don't think we have ever had a player with a double barrelled surname so I think this rumour is nonsense.
Wasn’t there a fella from Peterborough with flowing blonde locks who played for us once..? Dave Salmon-Jones or something?

On the FFP thing, they lost 92m in 21/22 and that was with European football and 8th place finish. No accounts for last season yet, but with no Europa and finish 10 places lower, you can’t see it being much better, even accounting for stuff that can be discounted in FFP calcs.

I have a feeling that FFP finally flexing its muscles (unless you’re Man City) may influence Leicester’s decision here. They’re far enough ahead that they’ll probably still finish top 2, and it’d be far better to try and avoid relegation next year without the threat of a 10 point penalty hindering you.

It’s obvious to me that this second story is clearly just Leicester setting themselves up so they can tell the fans they said no until Kiernan Lemmington-Spa forced them to accept £30,000,000

Hold the nerve.

A mate of mine walked his dog for a while when he lived here. So every week she met BDBBD - Big Dan Burn’s Big Dog
Can you please get a video of @jackalbion, post-Buckfast, saying "Big Dan Burn’s Big Dog" 10 times as quickly as he can.

Ornstein is very reliable IMO, so I'd be surprised we were trying to negotiate with Leicester if they didn't want to sell. Doesn't mean a deal will happen though as we might not be prepared to match their demands.

This is definitely not over - Leicester are doing exactly what they should and you’d expect.

It’s up to the player now - if he really pushes for it, it can happen. And from his point of view, it’s a great move. Can play a big part in the rest of our Premier League season hopefuy getting into Europe again and the remainder of our Europa League campaign - this would then give him a great chance of getting into the England Euro’s squad. And next season too, who is likely to finish higher, Leicester or Brighton? It’s a no brainer for him.

What is interesting is the fact that the Leicester manager is such a close friend of RDZ.

Think they sold a couple of players last summer for about £80m?

He normally writes The Athletic exclusives. I get the impression that other Athletic journos have to hand their exclusives to him if it’s a big enough story.

There must be interest and talking, I would imagine the Sky journo has taken Leicester’s negotiating line verbatim and published it.

Your're right; they did. They also sold Fofana for around 70m at the beginning of 22-23, so last season's and this season's losses will have been reduced to a large extent. However, FFP is a rolling 3 season assessment, and with 2 PL seasons and one Champioship season, Leicester will have a limit losses totalling 83m. Given the extent of losses in 20-21, and with 22-23 turnover reducing signficantly with no European football and 25m less TV money from a bottom-3 finish, you can see why it might require a couple of extra sales this year to get them on the right side of the 3 year limit.

Forgetting the development of raw talent, when we spend big are we signing players to improve us these days or to provide better than adequate cover?

If it’s to improve us, does K.D-H do that?
Who would drop out in our strongest 11?

If we are signing great cover/possible starter, it does seem a lot of money for a championship player, who wasn’t that much of a stand-out in the PL….

We get most things right, so it is exciting, but if we don’t sign him I’m not that bothered. I’m actually more interested in the Juve and Udinese links that were reported.

Solly has had many injury problems and isn’t getting any younger.
