I'm no fan of Trump, but unfortunately he seems a better bet than Biden.

On reflection, if Trump HAD won last time around at least the world would be rid of him in a year's time whatever chaos he had created.

Please show your working outs for how trump would be better than Biden
...............and given his refusal to accept a democratic result after he was defeated after his first term, please specify how the USA would have removed him from office after he had entrenched himself in power with a second term. Would be Putin all over again, with Good 'Ole Boys and the NRA instead of the Russian Communist party and the KGB!

So, by that logic, Biden must've been better than Trump four years ago, then? What's changed?

I think he may have been taking the michael.
It’s hard to tell - there’s so many people talking guff on these political threads who’s to know- Biden has already been called ‘far left’ and a ‘socialist’, ‘Trump a ‘fascist’ - it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if some far right knobs thought Biden was a ‘communist’ 🙄 it is a football forum after all ( so I’ve been told several times recently after trying to posting serious points of discussion on another thread)

It's really not that hard to tell.
I'd also suggest that if you've filed clapham_gull under "far right knob" you might need to do some reorganisation.

Agree, not always easy to see the nuance in a post! If you read everything that Trump is posting you'd think he was taking the piss and then it turns out he genuinely believes what he says!!

What is Biden exactly? Interesting question.

Certainly not someone who is mentally or physically fit to be president.
Given that his main competitor also isn't fit to be president, doesn't it cast doubt over the electoral system in the US?

Surely not fit for purpose?

Referencing the "US HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL MUSEUM" Trump is about 80% there.

The commy thing towards Biden is a joke / ridiculing that who have had their brains boiled.

The thing with the US is unless Biden romps it (seems highly unlikely) they're already in failed democracy territory, infact the Republican party seems to have given up on it.

Its goes without saying, a failing US is a problem for democracy around the world and a win for Russia and China.

It is a sad indictment not just of the electoral system but of an electorate who for too long has voted for the cult of personality rather than the best man for the job.

When Trump said "I can walk down 5th Av" I'm not sure at that point it was true, for Trump it was a throw away remark.

But sadly now I think a lot really would, for a lot of people its transactional. They get something they want and are prepared to ignore everything else. This happened here to a lesser extent with Brexit, but in the end that wasn't enough
