It's encouraging to see some of the previous form . . . QUite clearly a little nervous/hesitant, he needs more game time to get match fit and confident. That cross was superb
I think Moder needs a proper full blooded tackle to get his full confidence back and realise that he isn't made of glass.

I had a very similar injury and recovery time albeit without being a professional footballer but I can still remember the joy of playing 5 aside when I got up and kept playing after the first smashing tackle.

Steele immense again - please god RDZ notice this - possibly the since April stat might have something to do with what you’ve been doing with the keepers for 95% of that time

Sussex but not by the sea
A fit and available Mitoma tonight and we win that, and that’s not meant as a slur on Milner, but Mitoma has a field day down our left tonight. Of course WHU could rightly counter that an available Kudus does the same for them.
Both teams had key players out, we looked like the home team for the entire 2nd half.

Biggest positive? Ground ticked off so I never have to go back there.
It's a terrible football stadium, owned by us all, in the middle of no where, train links miles away.

No more eye-wateringly expensive food until next season. The vans outside make the ones at The Amex look like Aldi prices...

Ward-Prowse was shit against us for the first time ever.

JPVH proved that he can run the defence on his own. Early in the season, he only looked good if he had a stronger defender (ie Dunk) alongside him, but he's grown in confidence so much, he never looked flustered, even once Webster went off.

I wish he'd score for us, I'd love to see his reaction.

No sore throats tomorrow due to any noise coming from our end at all…
Sounded loud in the first half especially in our end on the telly - certainly no noise whatsoever from the home fans. I imagine frustration set in in the 2nd half as the game ground on and especially considering atmosphere from home ends was so poor too

Difference is wages between us and West Ham, and they have a 60k stadium revenue income.
We are a better footballing team to watch.
Do we want to win trophies or be a better footballing team?
What would you prefer?
And that is a genuine NSC question as we have the ambition, but at some point we have a ceiling on wages, where can’t get to CL or even consistent EL level if we don’t pay wages.
It’s fine having the odd gem like Hinsh, but we can’t rely on that if we want stated ambition of the club that ‘there is no ceiling’.
There is unfortunately and that’s wages.

West Ham won the Conference League - Villa should win it this year. If we were in it, I'd be pretty disappointed if we didn't win it to be honest!

Possibly. But of the personel available, had Pascal bagged one of his chances we win that. No criticism of Pascal, but he would normally have taken at least one.

It looked like he bottled his chance through fear of getting flattened. Lent back and had half an eye on the keeper instead of just throwing himself at the ball.

It was an horrendous atmosphere. The worst I've experienced at an away game. The home support was awful and in the lower tier it was like a morgue. Sounded better in the upper tier perhaps but overall really poor.
