I've just turned off the Ricky Gervais stand up after half hour of painful viewing. He's really gone downhill over the years. Not that he cares, I used to be a fan
He spends too much time trying to shock and say the unsayable. Keeps people watching I think but really going out of your way to punch down without any particularly good jokes is populism at its worst.

Mrs Swim and I did exactly the same last night Armageddon we were watching and personally found the bit about the children with cancer awful. He’s great in Office and afterlife but not sure about his stand up.

Currently halfway through Leave The World Behind.
Not bad and I’m interested to see how it ends.

I’m usually a big fan of Gervais’s stand up and like the fact he doesn’t care who he offends but the new one is poor, like others switched over early.

Watched the last episode last night. Very good, but a lot remains unexplained. Will have to wait for the next series.
The acting is first rate and it’s a cut above most stuff out there but you do have to suspend disbelief for large chunks of it. The Dutch ‘SWAT’ guys definitely have the best tactical clothing and kit of all special police teams out there.
