No I wouldn't, it's quite frankly weird. I like having a monarchy, I enjoy watching all the pomp & ceremony. I wouldn't be lining the streets to catch a glimpse, whist waving a flag though. I'm not religious but I still say The Lords Prayer when I go to a Christening or whatever, I like tradition. But I won't be pledging my allegiance to anyone.

Him and his “Consort” can do one.
Loved my country and the Queen.
But not Charles III.
Weirdo - why would he expect us plebs to do that?

I'm with Celtic on this one.

Sectarian bullshite, belongs in the dark ages along with the royal family.
Hate Celtic and their still pro IRA songs they sing, how’s a country to move forward with independence when certain sections of their country can’t get over themselves.

oh, and nah is the answer to the main question.

This is what 4 moths of Military training gets you. Where do I sign up?

Tossers!
The Duke of Edinburgh had the guts to say this isn’t for me. Royal males are expected to join the armed forces.
I have respect for Edward for being honest, unlike his elder brother.

I amazed at the ignorance of people who wouldn’t do it themselves, who don’t know the difference between campaign medals and commemorative medals. Using their ignorance to ridicule others, is not a good look, Clive.

It just looks like a kid playing dress up. Kick in the teeth to anyone that did any real service.

Gives them a sense of purpose/passion whatever you want to call it I suppose, in what is an otherwise hollow match day experience in an absolute joke of a pointless league.

Describe to me how the alternative will work.

Context: The ROYAL family is the pinnacle of a/our modern (but still) 1000 year old aristocratic dynasty that underpins the British establishment and our outdated parliamentary system. It’s woven into the fabric of our culture and language/terminology like the privvy council, royal ascent, commons, lords and a National Anthem, that talks to the ruler/monarch rather than the nation and its citizens. It’ll take generations to unpick it. But a start would be…

Reform of voting system and electoral boundaries and the abolition of an unelected second house together with moving Parliament to a modern, fit for purpose building with no reference to commons & lords, plus a new National Anthem. The Royal Family should play no part in Government including royal ascent and regular chats with the PM. The word Royal should be removed from all day-to-day governmental systems/procedures.

We can continue to have a constitutional monarch but the tendrils of their influence over the establishment needs to be massively diluted and that starts with systemic change and modern language/terminology.

sensible, can't see the turkeys from all the political parties voting for Christmas though, we need some kind of revolution.

We do run on some archaic system that is in drastic need of an overhaul top to bottom.

I underwent an Army attestation ceremony 45 years ago and swore allegiance to our late Queen, her heirs and successors. Therefore I assume there is no need to swear separate allegiance to the present "heir and successor"........ Having said that, had I not already done so, I wouldn't, as a civilian, do it now.

As Python said

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
