Surreptitiously RDZ has manoeuvred Sarmiento, Enciso and Buonannotte into positions where they can start or at least be on the bench for a significant substitute appearances. All three seriously excite me. Sarmiento has had to bide his time, all the while gaining that valuable experience. Then you look at the likes of Moran and Hinshlewood being involved in the match day squad, you realise not only what depth we now have but also the well thought out strategy. With the impending fixture congestion you also can't help think that RDZ will use all these players even more as the end of the season approaches.

I hate this nonsense that comes out every time a skillful player showboats a bit that he’s lucky he didn’t get his legs broken etc.
Maybe the defenders should skill up and learn to tackle properly. They don’t have a right to injure another pro because they’re not good enough.
Football is entertainment, we need more players like him. The same for Neymar, Grealish and Vini Jr etc, these players should be enjoyed. If they’re good enough to do it, good luck to them.

Sockboy needs to learn to (drive) release the ball sooner, then he wouldn't get clattered and to stop being a knob and moaning that every tackle should be a booking....then maybe, I'll stop having a whinge up about him...but yeah, it's entertainment and he plays the pantomime villain quite well!
Nah. He's got a lot of skills and tricks but the other 3 are rock solid throughout the game and always make the right choices.
Hes got plenty of time to learn how to properly influence the full game as he's still young and can learn from them.

This may be controversial but I don't like Mac Allister as a 10. His finishing isn't good enough and his decision making leaves a bit to be desired on occasion.
Love him as a player just not sure that 10 is his best position. I feel like he is keeping the spot warm for one of the south American lads.
I offer his low goals and assist stats as evidence to back up what I see. 1 assist and 2 goals from open play this season.

No flaming needed. I don't actually disagree in isolation, and I would agree entirely if we played a number 10 is it's traditional sense but his contribution is more than that. To me, the question isn't "Is Sarmiento (for example) a better no. 10 than Mac Allister" it's "Can Sarmiento play as a no. 10 AND fill in as a defensive midfielder and drive the team forward from the back box-to-box".

Change the name De Zerbi for Potter, and ther very same post could have been made around this time a season or so ago.
Roberto De Zerbi for me though, is like Graham Potter on acid. All that intricate short passing in our own penalty area as the opposition apply their press, will result in me needing urgent medical attention one day soon l'm sure.
High tempo high risk football it most certainly is.
Back to the subject of ths thread though, and Jeremy Sarmiento is such an exciting talent. Just a shame for him in many ways that all of our midfield players and wingers are playing so well, otherise l think he would have forced his way into the starting eleven for most games now.
He will just have to bide his time for a bit longer and make some more cameo appearances from the bench. His time will definately come though.

This time a year ago I think we'd just been whooped 0-3 by Burnley in a shocking performance after getting beat by Villa 0-2 in the game before. We then went on to get beat by Newcastle, Liverpool, and Spurs scoring zero goals in the process. We were turd in that period. It was only when Potter realised he had a player called Caceido on his bench that we managed to find some form at the end of the season and gave us the blessing that handed us Roberto in convincing Chelsea he was some sort of messiah.
