Interesting looking at their Twitter page and their photos from Arsenal at the weekend where alongside the relatively harmless (unless you're asthmatic) smoke things there is also someone in the ground clearly using a marine flare. That glowing metal tube in the bottom left photo is approaching 1600 to 2000 degrees C - even the pyro fanatics in Lewes bonfire don't use them on the streets anymore because they are such a hazard to anyone in proximity and if they touch your clothing or skin you're pretty messed up instantly. There's a reason alternative and appropriately named (but still illegal in the UK) "football flares" exist on the continent. In a stadium, where opportunities to douse them properly aren't going to be there, where it's crowded, where people in trainers might tread on them and never walk properly again using a marine flare is asking for a major incident and potentially catastrophic fire. What's the odds of these twonks being banned though?
What about the inflatable seagulls that came out last weekend to warn off Harry the Haddock?
Who would you rather form a rivalry with? Crawley? Bournemouth? Saints? Pompey? Reading?
And the crest has only had 1861 added to it, not a major rebrand

What people find funny is that no-one outside CPFC accepts the 1861 claim as being the same club, and the number one historian of CPFC and Crystal Palace generally, actively debunks it https://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=82&story=7860
From the outside looking in denying the real history and legacy of the club and laying claim to a false one is just bizarre.
Don't know about other Palace fans, but I was here last Thursday to admit again that we got off lightly, but that we would hopefully survive to renew hostilities again. Once March scored, our heads dropped and it was game over. I dont doubt that you will finish above us this season, but who knows how next season will pan out.

Actually I think you'll do ok next season - the standard of football in the Championship is very poor these days.

Shame the original now bankrupt CPFC are not around to sue the phoenix club Palace from stealing their heritage. Ive heard of expanding the truth but theyve got a cheek.
Proposed crest saying 1861, what BS, the now historical and dead Palace was formed in 1905.
CPFC2010 as they are formally and officially known are 13 years old.
Sainsburys has a longer history at Selhurst than the present club.

I'm guessing your new manager to replace Roy will take until early August to be appointed, they will then have a good run until October when the longest losing streak in history will start. Death threats for your players over Xmas followed by a "Beaky out" protest march in early February after another shockingly bad transfer window, attended by 50 prats in black outfits and 3 influencers to record the happy event. Relegated in mid April despite Roy being reappointed, sacked and then appointed again in March. Work on new stand then begins in June 2024.

It is astonishing that Palace are so bereft of support that they rely on these imbeciles and seem to celebrate their existence.

I can't get my head around the fact that the club backs them, legitimises them. Does that make parish accountable for their behaviour? If I was arsenal I'd be suing Palace for their part in sactioning the always ultras bringing in flares and hence criminal behaviour/activity.
I'd say kick them out of the PL but they are taking that action themselves it seems.

You can wriggle all you like but claiming something that is provably untrue, as shown by the number one club historian, is true and then doubling down on it isn't the stuff of sane adults. It's like the three year old convinced they're spiderman because they're wearing their red and blue pajamas and a mask.
But then your fan base and club have a penchant for indulging costume wearing, face hiding children so maybe it's to be expected.

You would think it's a joke, but no, it seems Parish is so desperate to pretend his club means something special, he's happy to lie about it. On the website they try and claim that they just stopped playing for a few years and liken that to Civil Service FC, but no, their club started a full 30 years after the old one had gone bust.

Of course it's not the historic fans of the club, who support them as we support Brighton, but it's decisions made by beaky and the like that are making them tinpot. The goal music and name singing was toe curling. Allowing the Ultras to have a say in the running of the club, removing decades long STHs from their seats to let the ultras take their choice is a disgrace to proper fans. Nicknaming your club the Eagles is also hugely embarrassing for a town that has no connection with Eagles (see also the Hull Tigers). It's all very American and marketing based crap, rather than an English football club.
Now pretending that they're the oldest league club is typical Palace and offensive to the clubs that actually are the oldest.
They are the Trigger's Broom of football clubs.
