Trying to be objective about it, I don't think that is an unreasonable contest. As @Motogull said earlier, they were much better and positive than I expected. It was a hard fought contest and I doubt any of us relaxed at any point.
For the first ten minutes, perhaps, but I thought the gulf in quality was pretty evident beyond that.

I looked into a Palarse relegation bet yesterday but at 9-1 against to go down, and a £30 bet returning a profit of £3, I gave it a swerve.

So why the panic? They would have been fine.

Was Dibley complaining he can't work under a Frenchman?
Betting £30 with odds at 9-1 against would give a profit of £270 no? Am I missing something?

Yet another manager who never got to see The Full Waite.

His record up to the World Cup was:

P52 W16 D19 L17 pts 67 [1.29 ppg]

That was an improvement on Hodgson's previous 2 seasons that yielded 1.14 ppg.

It should be clear by now that when Tony went on the journey with Ashworth to transform Brighton's style in the PL, that he was prepared to be patient and accept there would be periods when results wouldn't follow.

Potter's first 2 seasons yielded 82 points at 1.08 ppg.

It seems Viera is being sacked for 2023: P11 W0 D5 L6. In that period only 1 game was lost by more than 1 goal. They only conceded more than 1 twice. They got well earned draws against MU, Liverpool, us, Brentford and Newcastle. In those 11 games only Villa in 11th aren't in the top half.

Seems a typically knee jerk reaction to me.
Yes, and they looked decent in every game. They were 3 or 4 times better than Wet Sham. I have watched them a lot on TV and they are miles better than Stains, Bournemouth and others. I genuinely had no expectation that Beaky would twist. Oh well...

Bet365 have them at 11/2

For the first ten minutes, perhaps, but I thought the gulf in quality was pretty evident beyond that.
We don't often dip below 60% possession in a home game and only muster 11 shots which was equalled by Palace. I thought that our general play is better, but they carried a threat and didn't let us settle. Wasn't like we really threatened to ever run away with it. As another example of a European place chasing side, I thought Palace were a lot better than Fulham. Perverse really that Palace came to attack, created great chances and left with nothing, while Fulham were abject, we were profligate and they left with all 3.

The irony of this is that Palace produced their best football for a long time in the first half against us on Wednesday.
I felt they looked a reasonable side during several passages of play.

Hopefully they will bring back Sean Derry until the end of the season to seal their fate.
Very much so. Difficult not to feel sorry for him to some extent, l don't think Patrick Viera is a bad manager, and if he was in charge of anyone except Palarse, posters on here wouldn't be giving him such a hard time.

Yes, 11/2 to stay up and 9-1 against to go down (or 1/9 as someone correctly posted above.

That was yesterday anyway...

Typically football, so many times a low block negative approach gets an ‘unjust’ win eg the Benteke Amex game. Hodgson built much of his career on it.

I’d hate any Albion manager to go down that road.

hahahahahahahahaha!

What a ridiculous club they are.
What a stupid decision, in no real threat of going down and they're Spunking money they don't have, to buy off his contract!

I bet they spunk even more on interim deal for Fat Sam or similar for the rest of the season.
Offer 200k+ pw on a new contract for Zaha, as no decent manager will be interested if he goes.

Pretty sure most of the players liked playing for him.
Not sure getting rid of him now is going to change their current trajectory.
