[Football] Ted Lasso sacked by Leeds

It was always a strange Hyypia type appointment. He won the double with RB Salzburg, but they win the Austrian League every year. He joined RB Leipzig and got sacked in less than half a year, with the worst ppg of any manager they've had since the RB takeover. He arrived at Leeds when they were 16th. He sold Phillips and Raphina and then spent all the profits and more, half of it on Americans and players he had previously signed for RBs Salzburg & Leipzig. He left when they were 17th. Considering that Bielsa's side had only sunk so low because his system required Phillips and he wouldn't/couldn't find anyone who could play Phillips' role after he got injured, he leaves them considerably poorer in both financial and squad strength terms.
Shame really

The obvious choice would be Hassenhutl as a replacement, but with them both having come through the Red Bull system would that be too similar?

They have said they want a long term project manager, but to revolutionise the way they play when they’re in the relegation mix is a huge gamble.
I haven't read this thread in its entirety, so apologies if already posted, but wouldn't Carlos Corberan be the obvious choice? He's working wonders at WBA and worked under Bielsa at Leeds

Leeds supporting neighbour mentioned Gallardo, didn't realise he'd left River Plate now - I remember us being linked with him but he wanted to see out the season there are some such reports. Proably made up shite in the press but he seems to be a well respected manager. Corboran used to be at Leeds but would he jump now? Actually, who bloody cares

In their 'Who do you want as the new manager?' thread

Whoever Brighton are planning to appoint if De Zerbi is poached by Spurs/Liverpool or a European giant.

Clever lad
Excellent idea but the only problem is that we've all closely watched TB's work in detail for over a decade now and I think we'd all admit that none of us would have the faintest

I'm not saying he's good by any stretch but you do realise that managers don't sell players these days (unless there is a fall out) and the clubs director of football makes those decisions. It was almost impossible to keep those two once City and Barca came calling.

He'll have more than 1 potential successor imho.

Plus our real success is more in the recruitment and the star lizard Black magic algorithms.

From the Leeds Fan my mate knows……

1. They want Mauricio Pochettino.
2. They actually believe they are going to get him.
Well if they ever did, It would say a lot more about how desperate Pochettino is to grab anything after a long while in the wilderness, than Leeds being an attractive proposition.

Almost worth unbanning Killer Whale. I’m sure he’d be straight over here with a reasonable and sensible explanation of why Leeds are so far behind us.
No I don't.

He has made him a far far better player, but he doesn't have the elite strikers' killer instinct and I don't think ever will. You can't coach that it seems to me, it is inborn.

What do you think? Do you agree that there is a finite limit to coaching? However good?

(Thinking further about it I wonder if the Bielsa ethos goes against being a top top striker full stop? It is all about playing for the team, setting up other players, dummying to take defenders out of play so a teammate can score. Bit isn't the (sorry a bit of Latin here, I know how much you guys hate it, lol!) sine qua non of the best strikers that they are completely selfish?
I think I've spotted the real reason @Bozza banned the pompous prick

True about the sales, but the buys have his fingerprints all over them. He was like Cloughie signing his old Derby players because that's all he knew as Peter Taylor had stayed down here.

Now waiting for the inevitable ‘’free RDZ’ Leeds fan campaign..
I hope we have him securely tied down in Lancing for the next few days: surely the gravitational pull of the Champions of the Universe could be a danger?
