NOOOOO !!!! to you too!

Missing the point big time!!

I would be quite happy to be able to 'ignore' a thread - but that is not the option. The reason I can't see the thread is because it was started by one of the few people who have offended me by their rudeness sufficiently to be put on ignore - the fact that the thread is about our pursuit of a young player who we have now succeeding in bringing to the club is one in which I certainly do have an interest, even if I have no interest in a particular poster's view on the subject.

I’m really not missing the point. I was just trying to explain that I like the new feature. Each to their own.

So, you see a thread in which you have no interest, put the OP on ignore? Thread gone, job's a good 'un.

The next thread that person starts might be a perfectly good thread, on a topic of considerable interest to your good self - something you'd be happy to contribute to, and exchange views with other posters......the very epitome of all that's good on a football fans' forum in fact. But you're going to miss out on it becase you don't see it.

Oh dear, what a pity, etc, etc.

Well I'm sure I'm not on @GT49er or @Neville's Breakfast ignore lists as I've never insulted anyone on NSC (Except @Pretty Plnk Fairy and that was a statement of FACT).

Hello, is there anyone there ?
Well, as far as I know, you've never accused me of being, or implied that I am, xenophobic, racist, fascist, homophobic or a tacit supporter of the EDF - so although your witterings about people voting for unicorns can be a tad tiresome, I've never really considered putting quirky odd-balls on ignore.......................

I think you're safe.............

Exactly, what would the world have come to, if every Brexit supporting, Johnson supporter was called a swivel eyed loon. Live and let live

Exactly, and if anybody conflated those two somewhat conflicting ideals, the world would have little unicorns trotting down every High Street!

In the same post, I said about how I put someone on ignore on a different website.

That site uses the same software as NSC, so it was a pretty educated guess.
That makes perfect sense then. I would forget which forum I was posting on, it's like having more than one lover, you're going to screw up some when down the line!

I agree with your point. I can't for any moment think that it is a good idea that a whole thread could be lost simply as one has the OP on ignore. I only have very few people here on ignore and now it's a bit annoying that something that may be specifically interesting could be missed.

Heaven knows the number of new threads that @Harry Wilson's tackle must see each day, he must be wondering why things are so quiet.
