Wish people stop raving about it.

Welbeck and Mac both scored better goals this month alone.

Mitoma’s may also be world class, but it’s standard stuff at the Albion. And against Leicester he only beat 3 men and curled in from 20 yards and again, people go completely over the top.

Nothing to see here basically.
Said the same on twitter

Gets a lucky bounce
mistimes his first shot
Sticks a leg out and it goes in
League 1 at best

Not enough made on here about that second touch.

To have that level of composure
at that point in the game
with defenders bearing down on you
and very little time

is absolutely World Class.

So many players would've snatched at that chance and had it blocked. Reminds me of Aguero's dummy for THAT goal aginst QPR.

West is BEST
Mitoma is looking magnificent indeed. Playing no small part in our rise. I recall reading about him smashing a hat trick not long after he joined Union SG on loan and wishing he would get to us sooner.

When you break down the goal it was clever on so many levels.
  1. Mac Allister's pass the Estupiñán was beautifully weighted and accurate.
  2. Estupiñán's dink over everyone was worthy of a top class quarterback dropping the ball perfectly for Mitoma.
  3. And probably the most under-rated part of all was how Deniz Undav blocked Andrew Robertson from challenging Mitoma.
  4. The wonder boy's world class control and finish needs no explaining.

Wasn't that Groß?

Also, am I right in saying that the free-kick came from Robertson's foul on Ali Mac? If so, what a wee numpty. No wonder he sounded SO dour in the post-match interview!

You're correct M'lud! My mistake.
And when we look back at how nasty Robertson's foul was on Mac Allister it's even sweeter that it was punished with a goal that knocked the Scousers out of the cup.

I only know because I've watched it about 350 times!

I still think he should’ve passed it square rather than taking on the shot against Leicester.

More angles (I found this as a link after watching the 'highlights' of the home game against Burnley – thanks @Hugo Rune!):
