I base it purely on how we've performed on the pitch, so far, the results we've had and our current place in the table.
I'd suggest we're just getting more from our players, through tactics, training etc. than other teams can manage, with bigger spends.
That doesn't mean we're punching above our weight - we're just better at utilising what we have.
Again, just an opinion, not fact.

What was a good sign was the reaction to the later winner from the other South American mates of Caicedo on the sideline.
Sarmiento and Enciso were looking pretty damn excited when Mitoma reached them.

Others have said it but there doesnt feel much difference between a £60m bid, and a £60m bid plus a bit extra to be paid over the next few years only if certain requirements are met.

I'd like if that has been fed from our club. If you want to buy one of our players, feel free to make a bid which will be considered. But if you unsettle them and get them to post on social media such that they miss games, you can stick it - we simply won't sell to you in that window on principle.

I think we are where we deserve to be, based on how well Sir Tony Bloom and Barber run the club. But based on the money we've spent, you'd say we're punching about our weight. It depends how you look at it really.

Whatever happens, he’s not going to lose a significant amount of value over the next 4 months. He’d walk into the midfield of every club in the PL, so the big spenders aren’t going to stand by and watch us accept a low offer in he summer window.

If he's going to sulk and be disrespectful to the club then part of me wants to get rid & take the money, but i think the bigger picture is that we cant be seen as a pushover to the players, agents, and other teams. It will set an unwanted precedent. In the future we may then have similar scenarios with Ferguson, Mitoma, MacAllister, Sanchez, Estupinan, Buonanotte, Enciso, Sarmiento or any other young player that comes through the process.
If our club do their job properly (and I've never seen anything to suggest they won't), Caicedo would have to be an idiot to not accept the club's decision, and get his head down and keep performing.
I'd like to think the club will have good communication with him directly (obviously not via an agent) explaining that we've only just received bids for him and it's just too late in the window for us to replace him. We completely understand his desire to play for a CL club, and that he'll be able to do so soon, just not this season. We do let players go, like White, Biss, Cuckoo, and Trossard, and the same applies to him. He's only 21, he has his whole career ahead of him to play at the top level and earn big bucks, so as long as he keeps being as professional as he's always been, his time will come very soon.
