[Albion] Moises Caicedo - New contract signed until summer 2027 with 1 year extra option.

The one thing I would love would be to see an END to the January transfer window.

Get your business done pre-season with your set squad and run with it.
I wouldn't quite go that far. If a team has long term injuries to players they should be able to replace them in January and if a player isn't getting first team football they should be allowed to leave but yeah this crap of teams pinching other teams' first team regulars in January should be banned

Because he's a pivotal part of our side that is giving the club the first chance of European football in our 120-year history.

He's a young bloke who is being poorly advised by a new agent who is trying to engineer a move because that's how he gets his own big pay day.

Everyone I know who has met or dealt with Moises speaks highly of him, and once this has blown over, he'll get his head down and do his utmost to help the club have a strong second-half of the season before he then has the opportunity to choose from the numerous offers he's likely to have.
Absolutely 100% this. Naive young lad has been hoodwinked by parasitic advisors looking to monetise their best 'asset'. I don't see him downing tools at all if he stays.

I really feel the club need to hold firm with this one and send out a message that we aren't going to just roll over and get our bellies tickled every time a player/agent tries to force a move. Trossard was OK because we have better players in his position (imo) but caicedo would be a huge loss at this point. If we let him go this window as well as trossard, it would really make us look a soft touch

Pervis and Jezz will take him aside and go through his sensible option. Adam L and Danny W will do likewise. Then Alexis M will give him a big hug and a Spanish kiss and he will stay.

IMHO

Maybe Lewis will take him to one side and say "Listen mate, I tried this ages ago and look at me still here, then there was this other bloke called Dale he tried it but ended staying around for ages. If the club get an offer for you they are happy with they'll let you go. Otherwise there is no way you will be able to force them to, so just crack on, do your best and you will get you wish"

he literally appointed those agents in the last 4 weeks. He knew what the plan was
A bit like Todd Boehly and Graham Potter, and his staff. They thought they were on to a good thing but so far it’s been a huge crock of shit.

Two expressions spring to mind - the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and, careful what you wish for.

We have friends in strange places.

Is Keith a friend?

Let's remember that if he's forced to stay, he's still an important Brighton player and we should all support him as such. Like we did with our Dale Stephens songs. Throwing our toys out of the pram and having a go at him would hurt no one but us.

To be brutally honest, what’s the point of hanging on to him ? He’s almost certain to be half the player he’s been if he stays… it’s counter intuitive to keep anyone against their will … he’ll be gone by Wednesday I suspect, and given how this latest shit show has played out - good riddance.
If he’s as good a lad as previously reported, suffering a temporary brain fart at the behest of amateurish new agents, I could see him knuckling down.

It will end up being very funny if Partey is ruled out for a long time and that Arsenal are £20m+ short of the asking price for a replacement because they'd spent it on Trossard. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, one must have a heart of stone to watch Arsenal lose the league from 8 points clear without laughing.

100%. The only clubs this really benefit is the top clubs with money to spend. Either that or change the rules so you can’t buy a player from another team in the same division, as it then becomes an unfair competition. For example Palace could potentially play us twice without Caicedo.

So Dale Stephens didn't help us get promoted after we refused to let him go? And Dunk has been an absolute liability in the last few years after stopping him going to Fulham? And Harry Kane is really letting Spurs down at the moment, having stopped him going to City?

What on earth are you talking about?

That isn't really true

Clubs across the 92 benefit from the Jan window.

AFC Wimbledon have just sold a player for a much needed million.

His new agents are anything but amateurish.

They know what they are doing
Trashing his reputation in the process? The approach so far is hardly rocket science! There are plenty of good agents around that advise players sensibly and move them on at the appropriate moment without all this drama.
