[Football] Why do Spurs fans hate Daniel Levy so much?

Not sure who he supports is entirely relevant. The point is, opposition fans have often used "yids" (insert obligatory preceding F-word) as an insult towards Spurs. So Spurs fans have taken it upon themselves to counter it by endlessly chanting "yid army", as if this in some way owns it. It doesn't - it normalises the abuse, and perpetuates it.

"Town full of faggots, you're just a town full of faggots" was a regular chant home and away towards BHA fans (thankfully not so commonplaces these days). But would I feel the urge to go to every game chanting "FAG ARMY, FAG ARMY" ? Errm.
Ah, it is the same one then. Not relevant to you perhaps, but if you are concerned about Chelsea-supporting Baddiels feelings over a football song, I’ll start my research on ‘Combat 18’.

Fair post @Weststander. I know you hate us but that’s fair.

I think I’m just annoyed because I got stranded at Clapham Junction for just shy of an hour earlier because of signal failure en route home from the worlds worst game at Fulham.

If I ever come across as anti-Brighton on here that is not the case whatsoever, many people on this forum know me personally will vouch for that.

Although. Will stand by what I stand if anyone really what’s to know why we hate Levy, I’ll explain. I only live in Hangleton.
You come across as friendly 🙂.

Heard at the station before the Chelsea game by the delightful London Cowboys fans and now the FA tell the football world that the term 'Rent Boy' is not allowed. The 'Yid Army' chant is just so boring and totally wrong

Levy will never match Chelsea, Citeh, Man Utd, Liverpool for player spend, even though he has the resources to do so.

Financially he has been a great chairman, but he is tight and has missed out of players he could have purchased. He has pursued vanity managers like Mourinho and Conte at the expense of exciting, attractive football, but unlike George Graham these dullards have won nothing.

He has failed to replace Walker, Alderweireld and Vertonghen with players of similar quality. The same can be said for Eriksen and Moussa Dembele. They have a world class attack, OK midfield, a midtable defence and a keeper that is a liability. Kane is carrying that side at the moment. And now they watch as Arsenal leapfrog them to - quite possibly - an improbable title just as many of the other giants have hit the rocks. There's no reason why Spurs couldn't be in Arsenal's position.

The Spurs defence is abysmal which is why Conte is setting up this way, that is on Levy and the recruitment team he hired up till Paratici,

The Irony of Levy not willing to get deals over the lines means he has ended up spending more on sub par players - Since Walker has left I think the spend on Right backs is about £80 million plus wages, rather than maybe spending £40 million on the right one.

Lewis and Levy are not poor, I don't think they should be ploughing personal fortunes into the club, but they have actually only put in about 10 million of their own money into the club and its now worth upwards of 3 billion, when the difference between signing Moutinho a few years ago was about £1 million, it seems a tad annoying.

Other chairman must absolutely hate dealing with Levy and not in a good way.

To be fair to him, he has spent in the past two windows, but the net spend will come done when loans of Winks/Lo Celso etc are confirmed up.

The Spurs performance to win at Fulham was a mirror image of the job they did on us at the Amex this season.
Six points and Conte banging his chest to his Spurs disciples in the stands.

If I was a Tottenham fan having to watch that every week with the quality of players they possess I would despair. They are so methodical and unexciting, £200m spend in the last two transfer windows and they produce that boring pile of shit.
Arsenal as a team, a club and a fan base are ahead of them. No wonder their fans are so bitter and frustrated.

The "Quality" of the Spurs squad is a big old myth.

Very old school Italian. Defensive. Chiselling out clean-sheets against low/mid-table teams that want to play the game. An approach that comes unstuck where the opposition are quality.

Not in the style of Bill Nicholson.

Thank god we have an adventurous Italian coach.

That "yid army" chant is so f***ing annoying. The nobbers chanting it aren't even jewish, they're just using a borderline racist slang term for an ethnic minority, because they think they're "owning it" for their club. And thats what they'll tell you.

Bunch of pricks.
It’s like Brighton fans calling themselves the Fag Army. Contextualise it like it and it seems utterly ridiculous.

Ha! An oldie. Respect.

Clearly old enough to remember Tottenham taking over your city (then town) in 1978 and probably hate Kane cos he scores more often than not against ‘The Albion’? Hence the hatred?

We’ve won trophies dating back to 1901. But you know that anyway. Be interesting to see how many folk getting excited about Brighton qualifying for Europe (and excited you should be and I’ll be cheering it on) travel abroad given they think £25 for a FAC4 game is expensive.
Clearly old enough to remember them cheating as well.

Is it because he doesn't spend £250 million on players every transfer window like Chelsea?
Like their entitled fans expect?

(to the tune of 'let's go f***ing mental!)

One always gets the sense that unlike Bloom and Barber, Levy is not die-hard a fan, but an administrator, despite having attended his first game in the 60s.

I think Spurs fans - far more than the Geordies - should be wondering why they have won sweet FA for far too many years.

There isn’t any heat in this thread whatsoever. If you follow the Spurs forum I told you to follow you’ll start understanding.

I’m past caring about ‘spending sprees’. The Brighton obsession with Tottenham and Kane needs to stop asap though. We can’t change 1978, and he’s only a goal away from breaking Greavsie’ record so once that’s done he will f*** off anyway (don’t blame him) and he can stop scoring every game against Brighton. 9 in 13 games currently. I do not want your Slazenger coat wearing manager to have to worry about Harry next season.

Were the teachers on strike for your Arithmetic lessons too?

You’re being overly sensitive. It’ll just be a handful of people still gloating at the 3-1 thrashing of Tottenham that day. Stains are equally disliked for the final day kick it to the opposition.

Loads of people on here hate the ‘big’ clubs in general. ManU and Chelsea get a shoeing. Newcastle are going to be increasingly despised over time. By your clubs supporters too btw!

There’s one odd exception though and I know for a fact through folk around my neck of the woods who go to the Amex …. there’s an awful load of people round here with a secret passion for Arsenal. Normally keeping a lid on it, but sometimes they can’t help themselves. Blokes who in the 1990’s switched to Arsenal. Weird.
I never switched to Arsenal, I was as happy as any to give them verbals in the FA Cup at the Goldstone, but they did become my glamour club at the time. All started whilst waiting for a train at Portslade to go to Albion at Fratton, think it may have been the 5-0 day, and we just felt it was going to be a fruitless day out. So we looked in the paper (remember those?) and saw it was Arsenal v United at Highbury. So started a short lived dalliance which took in about 10 live games in 4 or 5 years. It was fun at the time, and so glad I visited Highbury in its heyday as it was THE best ground in the country at that time.

You do know George Graham managed Tottenham and won a trophy yeah?
Yes, the only 2 Spurs managers to win trophies in the last 30 years, you sacked them both within a year. The manager that got you to a highest place finish in 30 years and a CL final, you sacked him too...

Wow, talk about revelling in glamorising stuff that happened before you were probably born. Yeah, Spurs came to Brighton and had a whale of a time on the Saturday, after being locked into the tunnel under West Street on Friday night for their own protection. As for hate Kane? Who actually gives a shit about him other than your lot? Large percentage of his goals are from the spot and he woefully under performs for England.

Funny part is all the big London clubs hate Spurs, and it ain’t down to jealousy of their success now is it? Maybe just cos their fans are a bunch of cocks.

I’m not. So please explain how they ‘cheated’ in a 40+ game season?
77/78 42 game season and everyone knows the last game against Southampton was fixed with both managers even linking arms walking around the pitch prior to the game. A draw meant both got promoted. They cheated.

As such both teams can go to hell.
