1. No journalist has any clue how much we would want for Caicedo because only TB knows, and even he probably has no set figure in mind.

2. It's not set in stone that any player will be sold in summer. In fact, I'm surprised that the head coach is even hinting as much.

3. If it's club policy to let any player go if he wants to provided the price is right, then a lot will depend on what the player in question wants. I believe Caicedo is in the process of finding a new agent so that may very well play into how things proceed at the end of the season, as will our final league position.

4. Unless I've seriously underestimated Billy Gilmour, Caicedo is the player who will be most difficult to replace, so I trust that we're looking particularly hard for defensive midfield players, and will be thinking about improving our reported offer for Ivan Ilic. Although I still believe in Steven Alzate and really hope that Rdz gets a look at him some tme soon..
I assumed RDZ's comment about a Summer move was a little bit of a holding position (with imperfect English), that things could easily change in a few months: a new contract offer from Brighton, or we qualify for Europe...but I could be very wrong!?

And...how pissed off will Caicedo's old agent be when he moves to a new one?!!! All that groundwork and he's probably lost millions of future rewards. It's dog eat dog.

Why , are we not allowed to have a brilliant team
Because we can't have 15 players who are on a par (or better) with Caicedo pushing to have a run at League and Champions League double.

It’s nearly always about the money . It’s a job at the end of the day , few players have allegiances . Dunk is one of the few that as a local lad he was happy to stay here and not disrupt his family albeit with regular salary increases and struggle along on circa £2.5m a year as opposed to moving to I think it was Chelsea at the time ,

I heard some idiot pundit on 5Live declare that Liverpool should spend the Bellingham money on two players instead, Rice and Caicedo. The presenter picked him up on his poor maths but you are looking at £150m+ for those two.

I’m sure that Caicedo will prove to the football world that he is up there with Bellingham and better than Rice in the second half of the season, playing with us.

Seems like many of these 'journalists' are incentivised to promote certain stories and push certain players or clubs' interests.

Perhaps they're more paid promoters rather than journalists in this regard.

You obviously missed the bit when he went on strike to force a move to ****ing Fulham!

Yeah and quite happily did his boyhood club almost every season for a while for a ‘new improved deal’

We also all know he’s capable of going to right to the very top - which neither of those clubs represent at the moment.
If Liverpool pay the price, would far rather he went there than Chelsea; proper club, decent manager, and genuinely rebuilding, no doubt to a very high level - all in all an excellent project for the young man to play a central part in if we can't keep him here.

Although, if we can qualify for Europe we should pull out all the stops to try and make sure we start our first European campaign with both Caicedo and Mac. Unfortunately I think that'll be a bloody big ask.

Unfortunately it’s highly unlikely that all of Mac A, Caicedo and Mitoma will be with us come 1st September. Just the way of the current $$$$$ EPL.

I’m getting used to this now, as TB seems incredibly strategic about it all.

I just hope any departees leave in a manner respectful to our club and that we extract vast amounts of cash from the buyers.

No, I think this guy believes he has personally 'discovered' Caicedo and will try to take credit when/if he finally moves.

We need to hit a European spot or win the FA cup whilst we’ve still got the band together. This could be a once in generation squad we have right now, surely we can’t keep improving it or treading water as our top players leave?

I am more concerned that we have a experienced replacement for any departures that happen in January . The squad with injuries and suspensions is beginning to look a bit thin

Yeah, he studied story books at Oxford so decided to follow by writing fiction for a living.
