He's doing his coaches badges whilst still playing for us isn't he? Genuinely hope he stays on with us after he hangs up his boots. He footballing brain on and off the pitch seems immense, would be that one person around the squad you always need.

Just needed a bit of luck without injuries.

From the moment he joined us, you could see his in-game intelligence, constant probing for openings and trying to turn us into a team that play forwards.
No luck today but difficult to see what had happened. Expect we will find out later this week but he would have been desperate to play next Sunday.

Christ we miss him when he’s not on the pitch.

He's been brilliant. It's noticeable how some games change when he goes off (Villa a few months ago being a prime recent example!).
As I was saying...

minor issue for Adam. As per his insta post. Thats good news!
That’s great but his minor issue cost us 2 points IMO as lost some of our control when he went off, Gross isn’t quite as good as Lallana in that position and Veltman had a weird game by his standards, perhaps lack of minutes. It was positive to see RDZ learnt from Villa though and moved Gross rather than bring on Encisco.

Just had the same conversation not good we lost control so much when he went off. Got it back half way through the second half.
As much as some think replacing quality players is easy it’s really not.

It was exactly the same against Villa when he went off when we had just gone 1-0 up. Lost so much control when Enciso came on in his place (not that I blame Enciso, but I was surprised by the sub at the time).

We inevitably lose some control and quality when he goes off, especially so early in the game, but unfortunately that’s the reality of having him in the team.

Having said that, Gross is a brilliant replacement and we still should have won based on the second half on Saturday.
