And the Guardian report afterwards that said, about our attacking, something like 'It wasn't so much that the referee blew a whistle for kick-off, more like a starting gun'
August 30th 2014 vs Charlton. Nothing game for most but…
The first time I took my son to the Amex (as sixth birthday present) and went with my dad who used to go to goldstone so our first three generation trip (none of us live close to Brighton). We drew 2-2 with a couple of lewis dunk headers, one of which was injury time equaliser. My lad has been hooked ever since.
That morning I had tweeted about first trip for three generations together and that chap Tom Gorringe who ran marketing (or something) replied and said give him a buzz when we got there. He met us after the short purchase and took us on a stadium tour. We were sitting in the manager’s seat in the dug out when the players came out to warm up and they let my lad on the pitch. He scored a pen on that small indoor Astro area and Calderon was watching and gave him a clap. It was an incredible day.

The 5-0 against Norwich. They were still firm favourites to go back up automatically at that stage, and their deeper pockets had enabled them to gazump our transfer deal with Spurs for Pritchard; so absolutely hammering them was a real statement of intent and the first time I - and probably a few others - thought that we had a real chance of promotion that season. It also made a nonsense of Pritchard's claim that he chose Norwich at the last minute for footballing reasons.

The Charlton game where we came back from 0-2 down to win 3-2. I took an Arsenal supporting mate and had been banging on about how good we were that year and I was feeling a bit foolish at half time. Felt much better at full-time!
The Sheffield Wed Friday night game where we had Murray send off, and were about to go behind after conceded a penalty. We ended up winning and with more players on the pitch. It was this game, when I felt something special was happening and were going to go up.

I just think it's brilliant that the Amex is creating its own set of memories now, rather than forever harping back to bloody 1997 or bloody 1983

Has anyone mentioned the Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley atmospheres yet?

The game against Chelsea - not this season, but that friendly, the first game in the whole country with fans allowed back after lockdown.
The weirdness of spaced seating, of being told to face the other way when anyone went past you, the feeling of what was so familiar and safe and ours all now feeling a bit surreal and in some ways unfamiliar, staff using sanitising gel on anything anyone's hand had touched, the slightly nervous excitement and the echoey near empty stadium. All of that.
I think also our first chance to see Ben White. Didn't care about the score. Just so good to be back among however few of us were allowed in. And the "can you hear the Chelsea sing?" at the empty away end just joyous.
As we're saying Amex not Albion, I'm going to go with England v Spain in the Women's Euro's too. Took my Mum, wife and daughter so 3 generations, two of them on their first trip to the Amex. Fantastic night and great memories.

Wolves starting a couple of Mexican waves during that game they went down was pretty fun.
Liam Bridcutt juking and jiving between something like four players and coming out with the ball.
More of a personal one but standing on the pitch with my dad after the Wigan game, just taking it all in. That was pretty special.
