I'm certain I'm not the only one continually pinching myself...
I always think many on here take it for granted - maybe that’s just me and I’m wrong. But even days like today and let alone 4-1 at Goodison and vs Chelsea. Today is massive considering our history of the last 25 years. We’ve just turned up at one of THE form championship teams - they played their strongest team - we played 3/4 fringe / reserves and we absolutely dismantled them. It almost seems like par of the course for some and not much celebration… THIS WILL NOT LAST FOREVER! And the moaners will be back in their dozens obviously!

Not good enough for (too) many though
Not sure this is really true.

Anyway, this team is incredible. We will probably never see this level again. I'm praying we win a trophy and make Europe in the next 2 or 3 years because this ought to be our time. If not now, then when? Football is cyclical and we will be shit again one day as sure as night follows day.

And "team" is the operative word, isn't it? This line from the BBC match report sums it up perfectly:

"The south coast side play easy-on-the-eye football and are stacked with talented individuals who all come together as one unit."

No bottle tops though… Its swings and roundabouts innit ?
Don't do a throwaway half-arsed halffunny comment, @Couldn't Be Hyypia wants this thread to be some holy monument.

Of course its the best team - its a super good team. Will be exciting to see how high up the table the boys can come this year because while I think Brighton will have a good team for many years to come, this might be quite unique.

De Zerbi’s Team of 2022/3 I think will find a special place in our collective memory as one of the best squads of all time - highest ever in the modern top flight, 7 WC players, explosion of talented youngsters, an unbelievable 25 goals in 9 games and for the first time in its modern history in reach of European football.

Even if it doesn’t last more than a season at this level, i think the 2022/3 season will be remembered like the other great club memories: the win over Chelsea when PG returned to the Amex, the win over Manure at the end of 2021/22. The win against Palace in February 1976 and shouting ‘Seagulls’ back at them. Mullery’s team of 1978/9 and Promotion to the First Division on 5th May with a win over Newcastle, the FA Cup Final in May 1983 (my Birthday!) …. So many great moments and periods in our history.
