Steve Coogan's finest hour as Gareth Cheeseman in 'Dearth of a Salesman.' Never fancied Partridge, but Coogan's Run was a much underrated series imho.

I wouldn’t disagree with any of the above but feel compelled to add Murder in Successville, starring Tom Davis. The episodes with Richard Osman and Martin Kemp still have me in stitches after several viewings. Unfortunately I don’t think you can get a box set.
So basically nowhere is far enough away to escape Seinfeld

Somehow The Dectectorists completely passed me by so have just downloaded all episodes (it’s available on iPlayer til Dec 19th so I have 3 weeks to work my way though it)
Thanks for the heads up, very much looks my sort of thing and Toby Jones is one of my favourite actors - he was amazing in Marvellous.

Fantastic series, anyone not seen this you're missing a cracking 10 episodes. That last episode has also my vote.
I loved the early Partridge, but yes, he's done it to death now, I didn't bother watching his last series (This Time?). But if we're talking about a single 30 minutes of TV (rather than 'Favourite TV Series'), then I think mine is another Coogan's Run episode: A Handyman for all Seasons. Absolutely perfect. That and the final episode of 'Black Adder Goes Forth' obviously. (And an honourable mention to nearly every episode of Father Ted)
As an aside I agree with the poster who said Monty Python is all but unwatchable now. I loved it at the time, but rewatching it recently I thought easily the best bits were the animations. Apart from a few classic sketches the rest of it left me cold.

A Handyman for all Seasons, yep, must be 20 years plus since I've seen it, but the frog-eyed Sprite, the chuckling and amused, knowing sighing while reading A Complete History of Concrete etc.

What an absolute joy this is! Only 5 episodes in and completely hooked - the way the characters are developing is testament to how well written and acted this is. I’m savouring every episode.
