Despite a lot of the games being dull, the hosts being rubbish, the grounds half empty, the organisers being corrupt and the location being one of the worst places in the world to play a World Cup, I've been enjoying this more than I thought I would. The relentlessness of one match after another in the group stage always sucks me in. However, I just need to have a small rant about the BBC's title sequence. It's absolutely the worst they've done in my entire lifetime.

This. Ignoring one match every now and again is dead easy but ignoring four a day? The frequency of games at this stage is exactly what's great about ANY World Cup.

But I think those who said it would be terrible because of the hosts and having to play it mid European season are being proven spot on. Some of the quality is absolutely excruciating.

However, I have seen England score six in one game, Qatar slink off with their tails between their legs and Ecuador genuinely lighting up my day when they play and that'll do for now. A poor tournament that genuinely causes problems for FIFA, combined with the odd great day will do me nicely.

BBC really do plumb the depths with the co commentator choices, Dion Dublin, Jermain Jenas and Danny Murphy

I put a bet on Belgium over 1.5 goals at 2.25...

If they would have actually passed the ball to each other against Canada they could have scored four or five. Hopefully they'll improve that part today.

This WC isn't the greatest advert for the benefits of 'warm weather training' in late November for Europe-based 'elite' footballers, has to be said :lolol:

Why are commentators and pundits confused about the handling of the offside decisions? Officials have been consistent so far in calling the ref to look at the screen if a call about whether a player is interfering with play is key to the ruling. They did the same thing when they ruled out Pervis's goal. There's no mystery, yet there they are again banging on about things being unclear. Its not unclear if you're paying attention, which is part of the job that you're being paid to do.

Bloody hell, anybody moaning about England being pedestrian the other day should take a look at Belgium. Seemingly ENDLESS passing around the back at the halfway line 🥱
