If RDZ brings us huge success this season, by continuing to outplay the big guns of the Premier League and we finish higher than last season and have decent cup runs. Do you think if Potter continues to struggle at Chelsea could we be at risk of another raid on our management team by Chelsea ?

Think you better concede we will lose RDZ to a big club relatively soon, not sure it’ll be from the Premier League though.

I said to my pal the other day that RDZ will be the manager of a Champions League winning team in the next 10 years - unfortunately it won’t be us !

What about taking Brighton to the Champions League though? Winning it is a stretch, but why can’t #teamlikebrighton disrupt a pretty average sky/toxic/top six/seven?

I would love that and I hope RDZ isn’t tempted by the money thrown at him by the big boys - would be amazing if he stuck with us helped create history 🙏

Several Chelsea fans already saying they should go for DeZerbi now on their forums as they think he's far more positive that GP. The vitriol against Potter this evening is pretty harsh.

At some point Chelsea may learn their lesson in signing anyone from us.
If they replace Potter so swiftly their instability and trigger happy nature would likely put many potential suitors off.
I think* Potter has the season.

*wrote think, mean hope!

He’s won 3 games for us.

So far yes, but it’s way he has got us playing, we are more confident playing out from the back, we look even more organised, we attack a lot quicker with more purpose and we are scoring goals - early days I know but for me so far his ideas and his way of playing seems technically far more superior than the way Potter had us set up

I can see De Zerbi going back to Shakhtar at some point in the future - I think he has unfinished business there - I also get the impression he’s the sort of manager that forms genuine deep bonds with his team players and is passionate about getting any clubs he manages onto an upward trajectory - personally, I don’t think he would move just to advance his career/get more money unless he felt he couldn’t take Brighton any further - we are a way way off that yet. But never say never …

A penny to know if Boehly or his secret confidente Winstanley have contemplated it.

Modern football rarely allows a long project and incremental improvements. Especially when next season’s CL money is at stake.

Bloom, Fenway Sports Group and the Leicester owner (too long a name to type) stand out as THE only EPL club owners who willingly accept a fallow season or two from a manager, cerebrally accepting factors beyond the manager’s control having a big say eg injuries.

Which type of owner will Boehly be?

I really like him and I think he’ll be a great manager for us.

Doesn’t change the fact he’s currently won 3 games in English football and some of our fans are already talking about losing him.

So as you said, you think he will be a great manager for us - and as per my OP - do you think Chelsea will come sniffing if, like you think, he is successful with us ?

Top tier football is new for our supporters. Even on NSC, where most of the brains of our support graze. Premature ejaculation is inevitable. As is the unwanted Mr Floppy.

Eventually we'll get the hang of it ???

I'm sure I heard on the radio in the days after Potters switch to Chelsea that regardless of where they finish in the league, his job is safe as the owner wants him to build something there and sees it as a long term project.

So if he’s successful and if Chelsea want a new manager and if there’s no better options and if there aren’t any other clubs who want him will they come sniffing around?

I dunno, maybe.

He’s won 3 games.
