My first ever bass purchase was a black Thunder 1A from Impact Music in Preston Road, sometime around 1985. The bloke that ran the shop was called Pete. Nice bloke.
Most very welcome Sir. 5 string Ernie Ball slinkys for my BEAD setup were £30 back in the day and I got through tons of them. I think I still have a stack of unused G strings somewhere (fnaar fnaar)
Always rounds on that bass as they help give it that classic metallic Musicman sound. I hollowed out the nut and used it with a BEAD tuning for a few years but eventually got over all that ridiculous nu metal rubbish and put it back to stock.
