After having read that Enciso might need to be sent to the second team, now Mitoma needs to go on the bench based on the preseason in favor of the new flavors of the month. Man. Tough fanbase.
I think this Mitoma vs AWB thing is completely overblown but it’s typical of social medias where people love this type of approach, a very American way of reading of sport, of seeing the game through 1on1 matchups as if football wasn’t a lot more intricate.
If AWB was so influential, he would...
You make it sound easier than it was, it all happened very fast and he didn’t cross it randomly, he put it right in Ferguson’s path. It’s good execution like this that separates winners from losers.
I understand the skepticism but I’d give March an extra point for the goal and when he’s better, like say the Palace game away, I have no problem saying it.
That said, I feel like when Mitoma does the quiet things well, like March, it kinda goes unnoticed because there’s expectations he’s gonna...
That’s where I disagree, he was efficient. Participated in the flow of the football but when the situation called for it, he created the goal. Besides he’s playing alongside Estupinan who’s a serious ball hogger and it implies a lot more defensive work than playing with a more classic side back...
He’s at the root of the goal, without his break through + perfect pass, there wouldn’t be a Brighton win. March scored a great goal but he did nothing else of note the rest of the game and yet perceptions favor him. I’d give March an extra point for the goal but without Mitoma, Brighton’s last...
Steele 8
Veltman 8
Dunk 7.5
Colwill 7
Pervis 7
Caicedo 8
MacAllister 7.5
Gross 7
March 8
Mitoma 8
Welbeck 7
I think Pervis is an excellent LB but there really is no chemistry between him and Mitoma (who made the only goal, that makes up for a the fact he didn’t destroy Clyne I think …).
He wasn’t quiet, he was efficient. He also set up Wellbeck’s big chance with that neat little pass in their 1-2. It’s rare that any player can create 4 clear goal scoring situations by himself during the same game. Everytime he gets the ball, he tries to make it count.
Dunk attempts 3 or 4 passes like the one he made to Mitoma because he knows he can work with Kaoru and if he executes it right, it’s almost lethal. It’s a good threat, that opponents are gonna fight off even harder now, and it should be opening more situations on the other side of the pitch if...
If he doesn’t win the game for two games in a row he becomes awful, come on … I’m biased but today he started many good moves : he made the crossfield pass for March’s big chance, he set up Veltman perfectly in the box, should have earned a PK, worked hard from start to finish … March missed a...
