    Not sure why people think all this is necessary. It seems to me that the modern pre match entertainment has increased at the same time as match atmosphere has diminished. Could these be connected?

    One thing is certain. I’d be a lot more relaxed. Far fewer weekends would be spoilt by things I can’t control. But life would be duller.
