As a Catholic, this week has been a mixture of emotions……genuine sadness, thanks for the life of a wonderful human being and pride at the way in which the Church has organised everything. The funeral has been beautiful so far, the music in particular.
I remember Tony Maybury……nice fella and I used to see him at some other local gigs. Seem to remember he was also in a band called Joe Cool and the Killers. Anyone else remember them ?
Apologies if mentioned elsewhere but cant leave this discussion without mentioning the late great Martin Duffy of Primal Scream (amongst other things). A musical genius.
Haven’t yet watched the second series of Kin but will be doing so as really enjoyed the first series. If you liked that please do watch Love Hate on ITVx ……been binge watching the whole thing and it’s the best thing I’ve seen in ages. Lots of similarities to Kin…Irish crime drama set in Dublin...
Was there last night to see Wreckless Eric…which sadly meant missing the Ajax game. Eric made a very impassioned pleas for people to sign the petition. Its a great pub and a great music venue.
On a slightly different tack, saw a great flag online courtesy of Slough Town FC fans bearing the following message:
“The biggest trading estate in Europe, you’ll never sing that”
Love non league !
Lost my dad a few weeks ago. Was dreading Christmas to be honest. In fact , for me and mum, it wasnt as bad as we had feared……it helped having lots of family around and focusing on the positives and the happy memories. But I miss him so much , sometimes I think I am on top of it and then it...
Am an AFC Uckfield Town season ticket holder as well as the Albion. Not going to Southampton tomorrow but very much looking forward to watching the Uckers local derby away at Crowborough on Tuesday.
Remember very well a guy called Jim Hanigan who used to start a lot of the chants in the North Stand in the late 70s. wonder what happened to him ?. Like others , I also recall Krispies at Withdean…..did his best to get things going in the South Stand.
Went to support Lewes but they were well beaten. Very enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine nonetheless. Great comedy moment at the station after : Lewes fans " youre just a small town in Brighton ". Whitehawk fans " you're just a small town in Ringmer".
