No, I did not tackle Rod Stewart. I was the old style winger just ran up and down the wing, you could get hurt tackling people! I had my young son with me in the changing rooms so he could have gone back to school on the Monday and say he had seen a naked Rod Stewart. Not much to see anyway.

I cannot date the initial photo but there were to my knowledge three events at Withdean that generated vast crowds. One was the appearance of the Wombles but the crowd do not look as they were there for that. On another occasion the Brighton B52 American Football team played a game at Withdean...
