[Albion] I Just Don’t Care Anymore

I turned 51 in 2023 and it was my favourite year of being an Albion fan since I started going 39 years earlier.

    [Albion] Training Kit - Pi$$take

A match quality adidas Tango cost £40 from Swift Sports in 1986 (I remember this because I used to stare at them longingly through the window after swimming). That's £115 adjusted for inflation.

[Albion] How many saw Jack Hinshelwood's first Albion goal?

I'm pretty sure an Amazon Prime stream of Brighton v Brentford won't have added 'millions' to the viewing figures. A few more tens of thousands, perhaps.

[Albion] “I think he's an Albion fan", Athens/AEK edition

On the train to Gatwick now. Arriving in Athens this afternoon. Tangible excitement at receiving the ticket collection email yesterday. It feels thoroughly decadent having been abroad for three such occasions in short order.

[Albion] Nottingham Forest vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

A welcome if expensive three points. 1 defeat in 9 all comps (to Manchester City by the odd goal): 7th in the league, good position to progress in Europe despite an injury crisis.

[Albion] Ajax Goal Celebrations - Beer Throwing Bans?

Thing is, at least three cups were luzzed well after the initial goal celebration, in a deliberate attempt to get them over the glass/perspex. They landed on the polythene on the other side and partially obstructed (or at least slightly polluted) the already compromised view we had. Hardly the...

[Albion] Positives from Today (Sheffield United)

We have 1 more point this season than we did at the same stage last season despite selling 2/3 of the best central midfield we have ever had, an ongoing European campaign and an injury crisis.

    [Albion] The Marseille variant?

I do understand your point. I guess I feel at the very least it would be nice if we'd adopted the culture of mask-wearing while symptomatic, if absolutely nothing else. But yeah, given the UK public's broadly outraged reaction to even this one relatively minor expense and inconvenience, I'm...

    [Albion] The Marseille variant?

I didn't mean to steer this into a tiresome Covid debate either, although the thread title sort of implied a connection. I appreciate many have completely 'moved on' and I totally understand that. I only wish my partner (and her elderly auntie who died from Covid) could have been allowed to.

    [Albion] The Marseille variant?

For many, this is true. For others not so. A common cold has never left anyone young, fit and healthy who I know long-term disabled.

    [Albion] The Marseille variant?

It would have been so disappointing. But I just ordered two new boxes of in-date tests for whenever I get any sort of bug. I accept some people will feel this is OTT, but perhaps they've been luckier as regards to those close to them being affected.

    [Albion] The Marseille variant?

Thanks to this, Long Covid is still ruining lives. Having seen my partner's life devastated by Long Covid, I won't ever knowingly spread it. I'd have been utterly gutted, heartbroken even. But I wouldn't have travelled. This will be the same for Amsterdam and Athens too.
