A thread full of toys from the eighties

Stretch Armstrong Stock Car Smash-Up Rebound Tip It Buckaroo I Vant to Bite Your Finger John Bull printing outfit ... and of course those little Post Office kits. Stamps tasted great.

Harvey's is quite simply the best pint of beer in the world...

I agree the layout is better but when a good brewery closes, it closes forever and when another free house gets into the clutches of Mitchells and Butlers, or the other pubcos, a little bit of consumer choice is eroded. I went there at the start of the summer with the kids, intending to watch...

Harvey's is quite simply the best pint of beer in the world...

All cask ales can travel well if they're looked after, and don't sit around in some warehouse for weeks. Try the White Horse in Parsons Green for the best example of Harveys in the capital. Tastes pretty good in the Lamb in Eastbourne, too. Hepworths, and King, both Horsham micros, are worth...

I have just been chatting to Norman Baker MP on a bench overlooking Falmer pond....

And who was it who administered the sale of the Goldstone? None other than David Bellotti, Norman's oldest political ally. Can't believe he never mentioned it to him while they were playing dominoes together.

Apple really are taking the p*ss out of PCs now

I don't get the affection some people have for Macs. I've worked with them for the past 10 years and my system crashes at least twice a day. Ihe latest model I use is a brand new Imac and its interface is about as friendly as a Bosnian war criminal. However I've worked with the evil, snarling...

    Living in Seaford

If you're drinking in the Gildredge no wonder you wanted to leave town ...:D I must say Seaford has always seemed OK to me. A bit quiet maybe but some nice properties, some pleasant independent shops (not the same stuff you see everywhere else), seaside, plenty of pubs. One of these days it...

    Seriously,if we lose to Preston..........

McGhee will keep his job even if we're relegated. Everyone knows the size of the task this season ... we're not really in the same league off the pitch as the other sides and fourth bottom will be a big ask. We've chopped and changed managers too much in the last 10 years and I reckon Knight...

    Seaford, yes at last.

Seaford:18,825 (early closing Wednesday) Lewes: 13,919 (early closing Wednesday) Admittedly this is based on the 1981 census. I know of two people who have died in Seaford since then, and one in Lewes, so perhaps the margin is narrowing.

    Seaford, yes at last.

Saw the Seaford keeper sustain a broken leg in a match in the early 80s and he KEPT PLAYING. Only when a backpass strength shot later got past him was he stretchered off. Now that's the calibre of player we lack today...

What would YOU recommend to people coming to Sussex on holiday...?!

Treasure Island is still there and they've done it up. A lot bigger and brasher but with less potential for injury, which seems a bit of shame :) There's also Fort Fun/Rocky's along the seafront in Eastbourne. Kids seem to love it but it does attract the Asda element ... lots of king-size...

    Brighton & Reading fans FFS

Hang on, wind the tape back. Who voted us best fans in the league? I missed that one.

What would YOU recommend to people coming to Sussex on holiday...?!

The miniature railway in Eastbourne is brilliant for kids ... after the ride there are some great slides etc in the play areas, loads of space, you can walk around the lake and have an ice cream and (ahem) there are lots of young mums to ogle from behind your sunglasses. £3.95 for adults, kids 2...

Some div two sides have better teams than us

Having been in all three lower divisions in recent times, can we honestly say there's much to choose between the top half of Div 3, all of Div 2 and the bottom eight in Div 1? (I'm ignoring all Coca-Cola terminology here for ethical reasons).

    animal olympics?

Well I enjoyed it. Laughed out loud actually, admittedly after 3/4 bottle of Merlot.

    Westcott released

Eastbourne Borough have released Westy ... he's having trials with Horsham FC. You've got to feel sorry for him to slip further down the pyramid at his age (25). At Borough he was struggling to get a game. He had some nice touches but just seemed a bit lightweight. Seems a long time ago when...
